Deuteronomy 14-18

Deuteronomy Ch14- 18
Chapter 14 gives us a clear understanding of who God is. Moses is trying to explain to these people that they are sons of A, THE, living God and so he says you shall not do these particular things that ungodly people do.
Things like cut yourself, or shave your head.
“For you are a holy people”
You are chosen you.
They are literally a Possession of God.
God possesses them in the same way God possesses us.
We can relate to this because scripture says that we are bought purchased, by the blood of Christ
Isaiah 43:1
But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel,
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!
New Testament: Ephesians 2:8-9, For by Grace you have been saved, (Redeemed) through faith, and not of yourself, but is a gift of God…
Deuteronomy Ch.15
The Key verse in chapter 15 would have to be verse four. Where it says, however, there shall be no poor among you. The reason for that is the rest of the verse since the Lord will surely bless you in the land with the Lord your God is giving you as a inheritance to possess, but the key to this is you must listen obediently. The obedience must go to the voice of God and then observe all this commandment.
Some Moses is saying that God wants them at the end of seven years too reflect back on what they have been blessed with and to take that blessing and share it with people less fortunate. We as Christians are to do the same thing some might say well I don’t have a lot, but sometimes whenever you’re reaching out to someone else, it doesn’t take a lot, and these Gifts that you have been blessed with, each of us have been blessed with may not necessarily be monetary, we can share the love that God is given us, the grace that God has showed us with someone else. The wisdom that God is given us maybe concerning how we raised our kids and how we might encourage someone else to raise theirs so the list could go on and on.
