Last Sunday was a wonderful celebration:
Jesus our king defeated death on Resurrection Sunday.
In Christ we are forgiven, accepted, given the Holy Spirit.
It’s an amazing reality!
How do you live in the light of Resurrection Sunday when life feels like Crucifixion Friday?
The Lord has given his people the wonderful gift of lament.
1/3 of the Psalms are songs of lament
Lament is a prayer to God in pain, where a plea is presented and praise is proclaimed.
These songs of lament are a gift from God to us. They are an invitation to process uncomfortable emotions: grief, sorrow, anxiety, depression, confusion, disappointment, and anger.
Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy: Discovering the Grace of Lament Chapter 1: Keep Turning to Prayer (Psalm 77)

The practice of lament—the kind that is biblical, honest, and redemptive—is not as natural for us, because every lament is a prayer. A statement of faith. Lament is the honest cry of a hurting heart wrestling with the paradox of pain and the promise of God’s goodness.” Mark Vroegop
