“There is nothing to fear but fear itself.” That’s what President Franklin D. Roosevelt said in the thick of the Great Depression. But the truth is, he was only half right. Fear isn’t just an emotional feeling — it’s a spiritual force. And if we don’t face it and fight it, it’ll take more from us than a stock market ever could. Fear has a way of crawling into our minds like a serpent and coiling around our joy, our peace, our calling. But God didn’t save you so you could live in fear. He didn’t send His Son so you could survive in hiding. You were saved to walk free. Delivered. Bold. Courageous.
10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Fear is the tool the enemy uses to bind what Christ has set free.
Fear is the voice that tells you to sit down when God says to rise.
Fear is the chain around the soul of a believer who’s forgotten who they are.
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Imagine the terror. Gray skies over the English Channel. The thunder of enemy artillery pounding the beaches of Normandy. The cold steel ramp of a landing craft lowering into the surf as 18-year-old boys — most of them too young to drink — stepped into the freezing water, bullets tearing through the air like a swarm of hornets. One young private — part of the first wave — later said, “I wasn’t brave. I was scared to death. But I had a job to do — and freedom was worth it.”
Courage doesn’t mean you’re not afraid. It means you do what’s right — even when you are. Our freedom as American’s means something And some of those men died free, not because they never felt fear — but because they refused to let it master them.

Now Church, here’s the question: If young men stormed a beach to fight for physical liberty, …will we not stand up in spiritual courage to fight for eternal liberty The enemy may not be firing bullets — but he’s firing fear, deception, despair, and distraction. And too many believers are frozen on the shoreline — when God is calling us to advance.
Today is about deliverance.
Today is about power, love, and a sound mind.
Today is about tearing down fear and standing in the full freedom of the children of God.

7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Fear is not an emotion you need to manage —
It’s a spiritual trespasser that needs to be cast out and crushed under the authority of Jesus Christ. From the moment sin entered the garden, fear was close behind. Adam’s first words after the fall were: “I was afraid, so I hid.” (Genesis 3:10) That’s what fear does:
It isolates.
It suffocates.
It lies.
It builds invisible prisons with doors that only open from the inside.
But you weren’t saved to live in a cage —
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Fear doesn’t just want to torment you — it wants to own you. But it can’t — not if you know who you are.
Fear says, “You’ll never make it.”
Faith declares, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Fear whispers, “You’re too broken.”
Faith shouts, “By His wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
Fear says, “You’re alone.”
Faith sings, “God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

Let’s name the tyrants and strike them down with the sword of the Spirit:
Fear of rejection — “The Lord will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
Fear of loss — “My God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory.” (Philippians 4:19)
Fear of the future — “For I know the plans I have for you…” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Fear of persecution — “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake…” (Matthew 5:10)
Fear of death — “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55)
Fear of what the world is becoming — “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart — I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Fear of being traumatized again — “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)

These are not your masters — they are prison guards standing outside a cell that’s already been unlocked. The stone is rolled away. The door is wide open. Walk out in Jesus’ name. And here’s the truth that breaks the enemy’s back: Fear is the tax you pay for believing the devil’s lies. But faith is the inheritance of sons and daughters who believe God’s truth.
20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
Fear has no place here. The enemy has no claim here. And the Spirit of God has no rival here.

15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

Let me say it as plainly as I can:
You are not a slave.
You are not a victim.
You are not an orphan.
You are a blood-bought, Spirit-filled, devil-crushing, heaven-bound child of God.
And where the Spirit of the Lord is — there is freedom.
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

You didn’t receive a spirit of fear or bondage — You received the Spirit of adoption (Romans 8:15). That means you’re in the family. You’re in the will. You’re in the war — and you’re on the winning side.
Freedom in Christ Is Not Optional — It’s Foundational Jesus didn’t die so you could live safely in fear. He died and rose again so you could live boldly in freedom. Not just freedom from sin’s penalty — but freedom from Satan’s intimidation.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

But Let’s Talk Straight — American Freedom Is Under Assault Our nation was founded by people who believed freedom is a God-given right, not a government-issued privilege. But today, that freedom is being choked out in the name of progress.
Truth is being outlawed.
Biblical values are being branded as hate.
Free speech is under surveillance.
Parental rights are under siege.
Churches are being intimidated.
And the gospel is being censored by the same spirit of antichrist that once nailed it to a cross.
And if the Church stays silent while Caesar overreaches and Jezebel preaches —
We will wake up one day wondering where our freedom went.

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.
You were set free in Christ, and called to be bold in the culture. The Church must not trade away liberty for comfort, or silence for safety. Because when freedom dies in the pulpit, it soon dies in the public square.
This isn’t the hour to blend in — this is the hour to stand out. This isn’t the time for fear — this is the time for fire. “The righteous are bold as a lion” — so roar like it.

Let’s get this straight up front: Courage is not the absence of fear. It’s the presence of freedom with God Courage isn’t about how loud you shout — it’s about how deeply you’re anchored. It’s not about feelings — it’s about faith. And in a world running headlong into darkness, it’s courage that sets the believer apart.
Courage built the ark.
Courage stood in the furnace.
Courage walked into the lion’s den.
Courage knelt in Gethsemane.
Courage rolled away the stone.
And courage is what you need to stand in a world losing its mind.

And now let’s pivot to where it hits home — right here in America. We are blessed to live in a land where freedom was paid for with blood — not just in battlefields, but in pulpits. Men and women who feared God more than kings… who chose the lion’s den over compromise… who gave their lives so we could gather freely, speak boldly, and live righteously. But here’s the honest truth: Liberty means nothing if the Church is too afraid to speak truth in love. It means nothing if we stay silent while darkness advances.
We must stand when others bow.
Shine when others hide.
Speak when others go mute out of convenience or fear of being canceled.

That’s the spirit of liberty. That’s the DNA of a free church. That’s the backbone of a people who will not back down from truth.

Courage is the currency of freedom — and both are being drained by silence. You can’t walk in resurrection power with a spirit of fear. You can’t fight the good fight if you’re still afraid of being disliked. You can’t preserve liberty if you’re too scared to lift your voice. We weren’t called to blend in — We were commissioned to stand out.
Courage is what holds the line when culture crosses it.
Courage is what preaches the gospel when it’s unpopular.
Courage is what remembers: we’ve already won.

Let me tell you the truth no demon wants to hear: Fear doesn’t die when you try harder — it dies when Jesus walks in and takes over.
This is not self-help.
This is not religious coping.
This is a divine takedown.
This is adoption papers being signed in the Spirit — Chains snapping —Prison doors flying open — Sons and daughters taking back their minds and reclaiming their ground.
19 He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Some of you need to renounce fear right now: “God, I don’t want this anymore. I reject the lies. I refuse the torment. I break agreement with fear in Jesus’ name.” Some of you need to receive courage: “Father, fill me with boldness, with power, with Your Spirit. Give me the mind of Christ. Let me roar like a lion.” You are not what happened to you. You are a son. You are a daughter. You are free.
15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

Call it out – Name the fear. Name the lie. Drag it into the light.
Pray it out – “In Jesus’ name, I break every agreement with fear, shame, trauma, and torment. I receive the Spirit of adoption, power, love, and a sound mind.”
Walk it out – Don’t just cry tears — take ground. Step forward. Worship like you’re free. Speak like you’re fearless. Live like you’ve already won.

Two hundred and forty-nine years ago, our Founding Fathers stood in holy defiance of tyranny and made a declaration the world had never seen: “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary… to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them…”
They wrote: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

That document wasn’t birthed in a vacuum of philosophy — it was forged in the fire of biblical conviction. These men didn’t believe that government gives rights. They believed God already did. And their job was to recognize, defend, and secure what the Creator had already declared. But hear me, Church: Liberty is fragile. And fear is always lurking to enslave.
The same spirit of tyranny that tried to crush freedom in 1776 is alive today — not just in governments, but in cultural lies, moral decay, and spiritual apathy. So what does that mean for us? This is not the hour for lukewarm faith. This is the moment for the Church to rise and take its place again — Not as a political machine, But as a moral compass and a spiritual light in a nation lost in the fog of fear

We are one nation, under God — indivisible — and unafraid. Let the Church lead the way — Not just in patriotism, but in fearless devotion to Jesus Christ. Let us stand in the tradition of our spiritual forefathers who faced lions, fire, and crosses — And our national forefathers who faced musket, cannon, and gallows Because both knew: Freedom is worth it.
Let it be said again in our time: “We will have no king but Jesus. Here we stand, we can do no other. As for me and my house — we will serve the Lord.”
