A Walk in the Spirit
A Walk in the Spirit
How many actually prayed before coming today?
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.
19 For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.
20 For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.
21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
22 He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.
23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.
24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
Healed: to cure, heal,
Healed: to make whole, to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation
(Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible) Christ was bruised and crucified as a sacrifice for our sins, and by his stripes the diseases of our souls are cured.
We put great emphasis on the physical body, where God is focused more on the inner man!
Suck it up Buttercup is such a dangerous mindset.
When we bury pain it does not go away, it becomes an acid that rots our inner man.
Judith “ When I was a child I was not allowed to express anger, so I buried it. One day the Lord told her you can swallow the anger but you can not digest it!”
Are you willing to allow God to shift you that only what is pure and Holy remains?
We have a savior who was crucified to heal more than your lowest level of existence (your flesh) !
He suffered so that you do not have to go through life broken in the inner man!
4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Healed: to make whole!
What if you lived a hundred years physically healthy but was broken and diseased in your soul!
