Confidence in our future standing before God: abiding in God gives confidence before God. 2:28 2. Confidence in our future standing before God results in righteous living. 29 3. Confidence in God’s love: God made it possible to be part of the family of God. 3:1 CONFIDENT LIVING 4. Confidence in our future sanctification: being part of the family of God results in future complete sanctification. 3:2 5. Confidence in our future sanctification should result in righteous living. 3:3 WHAT I AM CONFIDENT IN IMPACTS MY DECISIONS.  Confident of my future standing before God  Confident in God’s love  Confident of my future complete sanctification THIS CONFIDENCE LEADS TO RIGHTEOUS LIVING TODAY! CONFIDENCE IN OUR FUTURE STANDING BEFORE GOD, GOD’S LOVE, AND OUR FUTURE COMPLETE SANCTIFICATION SHOULD MOTIVATE US TO RIGHTEOUS LIVING TODAY. CONFIDENCE IN GOD’S WORK MOTIVATES ME TO RIGHTEOUS LIVING TODAY. APPLICATION 1. Notice that each of these confidences are rooted in God and not my own ability. It is God who accomplishes the work of salvation so I don’t have to be worried about my eternity because it is all of God. APPLICATION 2. What I believe about God gives confidence removing doubt. •Does faith save me? •Am I accountable to God? •Does God love me? •Can God change me? APPLICATION 3. What I believe about God impacts my decisions today. 4. Righteous living deals with sin (purifies himself) and practices righteousness. What sin do you need to deal with in your life and what actions do you need to be taking. 5. Being part of the family God gives great comfort about my eternity. CONFIDENCE IN OUR FUTURE STANDING BEFORE GOD, GOD’S LOVE, AND OUR FUTURE COMPLETE SANCTIFICATION SHOULD MOTIVATE US TO RIGHTEOUS LIVING TODAY. BE CONFIDENT IN GOD’S WORK AND LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY TODAY!
