Malachi 3:10 (ESV)
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse… and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts…”
Point 1: Tithing Is a Test
Point 1: Tithing Is a Test
Every time we get paid, we take a test: Who will I put first—God or money?
God says in Malachi 3:10, “Test Me in this.” It’s the only place in Scripture where He invites us to test Him. Why?
Because tithing isn’t about finances—it’s about faith. It’s the test that reveals where our trust really lies.
Point 2: Tithing Breaks the Curse
Point 2: Tithing Breaks the Curse
God never cursed people—He cursed the ground after sin entered the world (Genesis 3).
But when we withhold the tithe, we live under the effects of that curse: lack, stress, and striving.
Tithing redeems the rest.
It breaks the power of mammon and positions us under God’s covering and blessing.
Closing Thought:
Tithing isn’t God trying to get something from you—it’s God trying to get something to you: His presence, His provision, and His protection.
