Wedding Ceremony
huj(PLEASE STAND)
(BE SEATED) Ladies and gentleman, I’m thrilled to welcome you here in the presence of God to unite Braedy Saenz and Avyalena Alvarado in Holy Matrimony.
Back in the Garden of Eden, God saw that it was not good for man to be alone. So, He made a partner suitable for him.
With that understanding let me ask who give this woman to be married to this man?
( a Prayer of Blessing over this couple?)
Braedy and Avy I want to remind you that this is not merely a social gathering. We’re gathered here to establish a new home where God can accomplish His purpose and plan.
Many marriages are less than what God intended because one or both individuals seek only to please themselves.
But the happy home and the happy marriage is built upon a self-giving love described beautifully in the 13th Chapter of 1 Corinthians which says,
“Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, Love does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice in wrong, but rejoices in right! Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, Love never ends. So faith, hope, and love abide, but the greatest of these is Love.”
Success in marriage is much more than finding the right person – it’s a matter of being the right person.
Marriage then should be entered only after careful thought and prayer to God for His guidance and blessing. Knowing both of you, I know you’ve prayed for each other. And in token of your willingness to enter into this sacred relationship, will you please join hands and face each other?
Braedy, it is the duty of the husband to be the lover, counselor, and spiritual leader of his wife. Woman was not taken from man’s head to rule over him, nor from his feet to be trampled upon, but from his side to be his equal, from under his arm to be protected by him, and next to his heart to be loved by him. In Ephesians 5, Paul tells husbands to love your wife as Christ loves the church and gave his life for it and to treat her as you would your own body since she will in fact become a part of you.
Avy, it is the duty of the wife to be the lover, the companion, and the comforter of her husband. You’ll lovingly support Alex all the days of your lives.
In all, marriage is a union that involves mutual commitment and responsibility.
VOWS
Upon the understanding of marriage in the context of Scripture, having defined both the role of the husband and the wife according to God’s Holy Word, we now come to that part of the ceremony in which you will share your vows with one another.
Braedy, will you commit yourself to Avy and to her usefulness as a child of God? And will you promise to love, honor, trust, and serve her in sickness and in health and in adversity and in prosperity and be faithful to her as long as you both shall live? I WILL
Do you promise to take out the trash and pick up your clothes off the floor?? I DO
Avy, will you commit yourself to Braedy and to his usefulness as a child of God? And will you promise to love, honor, trust, and serve him in sickness and in health and in adversity and in prosperity and be faithful to him as long as you both shall live? I WILL
Realizing then your Responsibility and the permanence and sacredness of this occasion, do you Braedytake this woman whose hands you hold to be your lawfully wedded wife ‘til death do you part? I DO
Then repeat after me: I Braedy, / take you Avy/
To be my wedded wife/ with deepest joy/ I take you into my life/I love you Avty/and therefore throughout life/ No matter what may lie ahead of us/ I pledge my life to you/ as a loving and faithful husband.
Realizing then your Responsibility and the permanence and sacredness of this occasion, do you Avytake this man whose hands you hold to be your lawfully wedded husband ‘til death do you part? I DO
Then repeat after me: I Avy,/ take you Braedy,/ to be my wedded husband/ with deepest joy/ I take you into my life/I love you Braedy/ and therefore throughout life/ No matter what may lie ahead of us/ I pledge my life to you/ as a loving and faithful wife.
Now for THE RINGS
The wedding ring has long been a symbol of marriage in at least 2 ways: first the purity of the gold symbolizes the purity of your love for each other. And second, the unending circle marks the unending vows you are taking today.
Braedy, place the ring on the ring finger of Avy left hand and hold it there as you repeat after me: With this ring/ I pledge my life and love to you/ in the name of the Father/ and of the Son/ and of the Holy Spirit.
Avy place the ring on the ring finger of Braedy left hand and hold it there as you repeat after me: With this ring/ I pledge my life and love to you/ in the name of the Father/ and of the Son/ and of the Holy Spirit.
