Honor Pastors and audience for listening
this sermon started months ago when I had some revelation on my identity in christ
it was reignited when pastor Joel shared his energy drink story
Identity might be the first war a Christian needs to win in the beginning of their walk with God. This battle is a two part battle how we identify God and believing how god Identifies us. if you can hold steadfast on the biblical truths you will have a excellent foundation to build on.
this concept is detailed not difficult

22 So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 23 He said, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”

24 (Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.) 25 They asked him, “Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?” 26 John answered them, “I baptize with water, but among you stands one you do not know, 27 even he who comes after me, the strap of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”

there is a layer deeper to untieing ones sandals. that was a job for some of the lowest servants and John the baptist is making it abundantly clear just how unworthy he is to be the lowest servant. We shouldnt even be allowed in the kingdom let alone in the house close enough to untie His sandals. We should be exiled! Just like Adam and Eve were exiled out of the Garden we should be exiled out of the kingdom however theres a difference between Adam and eve and you and I today and that is the blood of Jesus that forgives all of our sins and that church is Good news.
Daniel 3:6 And whoever does not fall down and worship shall immediately be cast into a burning fiery furnace.” 7 Therefore, as soon as all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, bagpipe, and every kind of music, all the peoples, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

28 Nebuchadnezzar answered and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, and set aside the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God. 29 Therefore I make a decree: Any people, nation, or language that speaks anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn limb from limb, and their houses laid in ruins, for there is no other god who is able to rescue in this way.” 30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

Someone is on the Throne/ The throne of your heart is never vacant.
Theres no denying that everyone without exception serves

20 And God spoke all these words, saying,

2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

3 “You shall have no other gods before me.

4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,

New Living Translation (NLT) 2 kings 17:15 They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors, and they despised all his warnings. They worshiped worthless idols, so they became worthless themselves. They followed the example of the nations around them, disobeying the LORD ’s command not to imitate them.
I found something interesting while studying all this out and that is there is a word thats used sometimes to contrast God and that is elilim which points
Psalm 96:5 uses elilim to describe the gods of the nations, contrasting them with the Lord who created the heavens.
Isaiah 2:8 uses elilim to describe the idols in the land.
Leviticus 26:1 uses elilim in a prohibition against making idols.

10 Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 He said, “But I will be with you

13 Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.”

God tells moses tell them I AM sent you in the Hebrew its says tell them Yahweh sent you. God is giving an all encompassing name He says Yahweh because it means "The Eternal, All-Sufficient God."
“ im not strong enough for this” El Shaddai The God Almighty (Genesis 17:1)
“ i feel like no one sees the struggles Im going through El Roi the God of seeing (Genesis 16:13) said by Sarai concerning a baby shes been believing for
“ i dont know how im going to provide for this circumstance.” Jehovah-Jireh The Lord will provide (Genesis 22:14) Said the Abraham the husband of Sarai about to sacrifice the very son that we were just talking about.
“ i have a bad report from the doctors.” Jehovah-Rapha The Lord your healer (Exodus 15:26) When one doctor said hes not sure if they could find a bone marrow donor for me in time God found not 1 but 2 full matched unrelated donors.
My house feels like a battlefield.” Jehovah-Shalom "The LORD Is Peace." (Judges 6:24) "The LORD Is Peace." This name was given by Gideon after the Angel of the Lord assured him he would not die.
“ My enemy is powerful.” Jehovah-Nissi "The LORD My Banner." (Exodus 17:15) A rallying point for Gods people reminding us that the victories is His. To continue singing when the government told us we can’t.
I am unsure about my next season in life. Jehovah-Shammah The Lord is There (Ezekiel 48:35) focusing on His omnipresence because theres no where God can take me that He has not already been.
I am surrounded by my enemies. Jehovah-Sabaoth "The LORD of Armies." (Zechariah 8:2) Reminds me of when a prophet and his aid wake up surrounded by the enemy
Last but not least God is the Alpha and Omega (Revelation 22:13)
