Prophecies!

6 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. 2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds. 3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; 4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass. 5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it. 6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD. 7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD because of the Midianites, 8 That the LORD sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, which said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up from Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage; 9 And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and drave them out from before you, and gave you their land; 10 And I said unto you, I am the LORD your God; fear not the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but ye have not obeyed my voice.

11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. 13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. 14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? 15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, ||my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. 16 And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel. 34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him. 35 And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.

Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. 2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. 4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go. 5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. 6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. 7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place. 8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

Its all the glory to God. I am careful to put so much emphasis upon the church that it is as if we don’t do it God can’t do it. At the same time I am careful to so excuse and dismiss the role of the church as to say that it doesnt matter what we do or do not do. That would contradict the Word! With that in mind.

1. I believe that in this last day God is calling people!

Calling people to what?
Relationship
Revival
Rise up
Rise up and do what?
To rise up of course and fight!
The condition of the land!
God called gideon to rise up and fight!
What do we fight with?
His Word of course!
WHY PREACH THIS?

11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

Gideon was hiding and many are hiding in the place of separation!
You are hiding in the place of separation because God has called you out but you are yet to step into your full potential in the Lord because there are things that are holding you back!
Gideon thought nothing of himself!

15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, ||my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.

2. Those whom God calls He equips!

He equips with the tools needed to get the job done!
He equips with a divine plan to move forward!
We need a plan from the throneroom of Heaven!
He’s given a plan from the throneroom of Heaven!
There is a plan for your life.
There is a plan for your family.
There is a plan for this church.
There is a plan for the surrounding communtities.
Gods got a plan!

3. Not everyone will understand or be on board with the Divine plan of God!

We already saw this last Sunday morning!
Imagine if they didnt follow through!

4. He does not need everyone to be on board with His plan to make it come to pass!

Gideon wanted everyone!

Ive laid out the fleeces guys! Ive got the answer! God answered and told me!

36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said, 37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said. 38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water. 39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew. 40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

God told Gideon to send a crowd away!
i. The fearful

Canaan - wilderness. The spies bad report!

12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

ii. The self-focused
Their position is all wrong. They dont know how to fight.

Some get so caught up in what they are getting themselves that they forget that what they are getting themselves is to sustain and help give them strength for what God has called them to do!
iii. The fighters
I am thirsty and need this to survive but I gotta keep my head up because the enemy may be prowling around.
I am thirsty and need to stop and drink for a moment but I gotta keep my eyes on the mission because if not I could just get stuck here drinking from this water

5. Where is Gideons army today?

People can fight and people can come against.
I remember when I preached that message the dread that came over me.
The more people fight the more God will show up!
My enemies bring me to my knees and help me to call on God at times!
I remember what someone said to me once.
Your battle will lead to your breakthrough!
Some people dont want to face struggles
To feel the weight to fight the enemy
God has made you in such a way that you are able to bare what is put before you!
