“Now” - after all that I have laid out for you, Jesus is the Highest, Jesus is better, live by faith, cling to Jesus…
Who is God?
He is the God of peace, not chaos, not destruction, not wrath or anger
Who is Jesus?
He is the Lord of those receiving this letter
He is the Great Shepherd of the sheep
He leads His flock
Jesus was brought from the dead by God through the blood of the eternal covenant
This covenant secured by blood will last forever
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow
May God, equip the listener with everything good so that you might be able to do His will
God is working in the listeners that which is pleasing in His sight
God is working in them through Jesus
May glory be to Christ forever and ever
The author appeals to the recipients in a familial plea
listen and heed the words of exhortation that he has just written
the author did not write exhaustively of all things but of what they needed to know
This community should know that Timothy was released from prison assumedly
The author will see this community if Timothy comes to him soon.
The author asks that they greet all their leaders and all the saints (followers of Jesus?)
Those who come from Italy greet the recipients too.
The author ends with Grace be with all of you.
Is this a reminder of the continual grace flowing from God?
What is the over arching meaning of this ending to a deep letter?
