Imagine a gardener who has a favorite plant – a beautiful rose bush. Over time, neglect sets in, and the plant begins to wilt. The gardener decides to return to caring for it, nurturing it with water and sunlight. Gradually, the rose bush revives, blossoming into a vibrant display. Similarly, we must tend to our relationship with God, returning to our first love and nourishing it through prayer and time with Him.
In the early days of a relationship, each moment shared feels like a precious gift. Later, however, distractions can turn love into an afterthought. This echoes the biblical narrative of Israel’s abandonment of God in pursuit of idols (Jeremiah 2:2-5). God beckons us to rekindle that initial flame, inviting us back into a love that persists beyond life’s distractions.
