1 Chronicles 29:14 NLT
But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!
This helps remind us who is the owner of everything.
Father, has always been and always will be!
He has provide all things for us and when we give part of what He has given us, back to Him, it says we trust You Lord.
Having a giving heart does not mean that we are giving great amounts. Instead it means thatĀ we are giving what Father is leading us to give
It’s all about Faith and Trusting God.
We pray and trust Him for our salvation.
We pray and trust Him for our healing.
We even pray and trust Father for helping us through hard times— (what kind of hard times?)
SO, LET’S TRUST HIM WITH OUR FINANCES AND IN OUR GIVING!

LESSON šŸŽš

This week...

As we Ramp up for this new series— Summertime: Reaching Out
Take the Gospel,
Show the Gospel, and
Tell the Gospel
…throughout the Summertime .
KEY POINTS
1 The Gospel = Power
2. The Gospel = Jesus and None Other
3. The Gospel = The Future
1 The Gospel = Power
Salvation comes through the power of God that is Found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul says in Romans 1:16
Romans 1:16 NLT
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.*
This means the gospel is the only message in the world that can powerfully bring a person not just to conversion, but to everlasting safety and joy in the presence of a holy and glorious God.
Hebrews 7:25 NLT
Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save* those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
The power of this Gospel is long reaching
You just don’t get a ā€œI Found Itā€ button—No!
Jesus is still on the job praying, interceding, standing in the gap for you!
The GOSPEL is POWER
2. The Gospel = Jesus and None Other
We must understand that Jesus is the key.
The Gospel is Not defined by Foursquare, Baptist. General Convention, Knowledge from the Science community, or Psychic Mysticism.
It is a relationship in JESUS!
If it’s not about Jesus it’s not the Gospel!
Romans 1:16 NLT
For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
It must be about Jesus.
Not about me or you.
He does change us but that is our story or testimony— THERE IS MANY STORIES BUT ONLY ONE GOSPEL— Jesus!
This is why we don’t just talk about ourself— we tell where we were and then how Jesus brought life to us when we trusted in him.
We don’t want people to trust in us.
Psalm 62:8 NLT
O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Interlude
Proverbs 3:5–6 NLT
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
THE GOSPEL IS JESUS!
3. The Gospel = The Future
The Gospel is for Today, but also without the Gospel there is no Future.
The Good News of Jesus is Our Future.
This Gospel brings us life, new life, abundant life, yes— eternal life— a rich and satisfying life.
John 10:10 NLT
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
1 John 5:11 NLT
And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
John 17:3 NLT
And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
THE GOSPEL is OUR FUTURE.
Picture this:
A FEW YEARS AGO…New Ordinance Trap Neuter and Release (TNR)
A cat can birth all the days of its life. No menopaws among cats 3 to 4 litters a year reach possibly 12 to 16 kittens per year.
Do the math— in a 5 year period that’s a bunch of cats — especially if you calculate in 6 months those kittens will be having there own litters.
OUCH
At Disneyland they have 200 Feral cats that they care for. There home is Disneyland. They all have names and have there own territory that they live in. However they don’t populate. Why?
Well it’s like here in Okmulgee— we passed a new ordinance to help control the feral cat population.
However, the law in itself did not do anything to affect the cat population —
But it enabled private citizens the avenue for them to act on the TNR ordinance — and that makes a direct impact on the cat population in Okmulgee.
With 38 cats trapped, neutered and released the downtown area one Okmulgee is better controlled and regulated.
NOW WHEN IT COMES TO THOSE WHO NEED SALVATION…
those who need their lives restored and
set free from the clutches of sin and death…
we are the agents of change— Agents of the Gospel.
John 3:36 MSG
That is why whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! And that is also why the person who avoids and distrusts the Son is in the dark and doesn’t see life. All he experiences of God is darkness, and an angry darkness at that.ā€
So Let’s Talk About …
we have the power to use the Gospel— but do we?
When do we feel comfortable to share the Good News?
What are some reasons we hold back or sidestep talking about Jesus to family and friends
Proverbs 18:21 NLT
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
Obedience to the Gospel should not be a switch we turn on and off. Like following Christ it should be our 24-7 goal.
Always in the front of our minds as we are being conformed into His image.
NEXT STEPS
Turn to Christ
Trust Christ
Pray for opportunities to Take, Show, and Tell the Gospel
Choose obedience and expect God to use you
