Discussion Questions: (update these questions based on the adjusted “I Believe Jesus Saves” lessons)
According to John 3:16, what does God love? - the world
How did God demonstrate that He loves the world? - He gave the world Jesus
Why did Jesus come to the world? - to die on the cross to forgive our sins
Introduction: On the first night, we learned that God provides for His creation.
Last night, we learned that God loves the world that He sent Jesus to die on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven.
Tonight, friends, we’re going to learn how we should respond to the truth of the second verse of our song.
In the 2nd verse, we’re reminded of something about Jesus.
He knows and cares about us!
Psalm 40:5 “5 Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.”
Friends, Jesus knows all about you.
Because He knows all about you, He is interested in the details of your life.
Why is He interested in the details of your life?
Psalm 139:16 “16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.”
Friends, Jesus has planned out your life.
As our song reminds us, these truths that Jesus knows us and cares for us leads us to a specific response.
Like what we heard the Psalmist say in Psalm 40:5, we proclaim Jesus’ praises.
We can proclaim His praises in songs, like this one, and among others.
Conclusion: Because Jesus knows and cares about you, praise His name!
Tomorrow night, we’re going to consider another really important trust from our song “I Believe Jesus Saves.”
