Who comes to live inside of someone when they have believed on Jesus to save them and empowers them to fight sin and live to please the Lord? - the Holy Spirit
Introduction: Friends, we have seen some great things from God’s Word this week: God provides for His creation and Jesus knows and cares about us.
We’ve also seen that God has proved His love for the world so that He sent Jesus to die on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven and when we have believed on Jesus to save us, Jesus transforms our lives so that we want to live to please Him.
Unfortunately, friends, tonight is the last night of our classroom time in VBS. Remember, tomorrow night we’re going to be sharing “Spinnin’” with the church, friends, and family. Then, join us again on Sunday morning to share with the church “I Believe Jesus Saves.”
Tonight, friends, we’re going to look at the last part of the song that encourages us to have a particular attitude because of Who we know.
Friends, the last portion of our song reminds us that the Lord is in charge of our life.
This is the phrase that we sing “the One Who holds it all in place.”
Psalm 93:1 “1 The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.”
Friends, the Lord is in charge of it all - He reigns!
Friends, because the Lord reigns, we have no need to be afraid, worry, or be troubled by things of this life.
In Psalm 93, the Psalmist uses the image of a great sea storm.
Therein, the Psalmist declares that Psalm 93:4 “4 More than the sounds of many waters, Than the mighty breakers of the sea, The Lord on high is mighty.”
The Psalmist finishes by stating, Psalm 93:5 “5 Your testimonies are fully confirmed; Holiness befits Your house, O Lord, forevermore.”
You see God is trustworthy, His testimonies are fully confirmed; therefore we trust Him no matter what we face.
We trust that He will lead us to do what’s right.
We trust that He will provide what we need to live to please Him.
Conclusion: Friends, only those that know the Lord, have believed on Jesus to save them, can be able to experience this confidence.
If you have yet to believe on Jesus to save you, talk with your leaders about what the means.
