Video: Soar Like Eagles (Isaiah 40:29-31)

Title of the Message this Morning is:

Soaring Above Life's Struggle - Like Eagles

Big Idea:

When we trust in God’s everlasting strength, we can rise above our struggles and experience true renewal and comfort in our lives.

Key Scripture: Isaiah 40:28–31

Prayer:

We come before you this morning giving you honor and glory and praise.

Thank you heavenly father for another opportunity to serve in your Kingdom.

Today I pray for all the people that are struggling in some areas of their lives.

I pray father God that you would help us to hear what your word has to say today, to help us to soar above life's struggles in Jesus name amen!

Introduction

In Isaiah 40:28-31,

All needed the strength that the everlasting God (40:28), the creator (40:12–17, 26), the one who promises to come to His people (40:3–5), the one whose word endures forever (40:6–8), the one who heralds good news for Judah’s cities (40:9–11) and Israel’s hurting ones (40:27–29), and the one who exchanges strength for exhaustion for those who wait…

God offers comfort to His people, reminding them of His everlasting strength and ability to renew their spirits.

This passage emphasizes the contrast between human weariness and divine strength, urging believers to trust in God's power for renewal and hope.

Main Teaching

This message encourages Christians facing fatigue and despair by pointing to God’s promise of strength and renewal.

By trusting in God, they can overcome their struggles, find rest, and soar like eagles, rather than being weighed down by their circumstances.

This teaching centers around God's omnipotence and faithfulness to empower those who rely on Him.

It illustrates that while human strength may fade, God's strength is unending, and He actively restores and uplifts His followers in times of trouble.

How this passage could point to Christ:

This passage foreshadows the ultimate renewal and comfort found in Christ, who invites all who are weary to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28-30).

Jesus embodies the strength promised in Isaiah, as He enables believers to overcome their struggles through faith in Him.

The use of the term ‘renew’ to clarify the depth of God’s promises.

Let’s take a look at how we “Perceive God’s Greatness”

Perceive God's Greatness

Isaiah 40:28

Emphasizing God’s eternal nature and omnipotence.

Omnipotence The belief that God has all the power and strength necessary to effect whatever purposes he chooses in the way in which he chooses.

Omnipotence is the idea that God is free to do whatever he wills in whatever way he wants (Mk 14:36; Lk 1:37).

After all, “Who Raised Up Whom?

Because His plans are far above ours, and He is never weary.

Jesus embodies divine wisdom and strength.

assuring believers that God’s strength is always available to all that is in Christ.

Enabling them to face any life challenge with confidence.

Because He gives power to the powerless!

Power to the Powerless

Isaiah 40:29

Perhaps emphasize the contrast between human frailty and God’s abundant strength.

This point could highlight how God gives power to the faint and increases the strength of the weak,

He encouraging believers to depend on God and not their own failing strength.

In light of Christ’s work, your strength is accessible through Him, who empowers His followers by His Spirit.

This promise of divine empowerment can help listeners find renewed energy and hope.

No matter if your young or old!

Present Weaknesses, Absent Strength

Isaiah 40:30

The reality that even youths, known for their vigor and strength, grow weary and stumble.

This serves as a reminder of human limitations, setting up the need for divine intervention.

Pointing to Christ, A reliance on God provides a source of strength that surpasses human capacity, encouraging listeners to lean on Christ rather than rely solely on their resources for overcoming obstacles.

Here is the promise you have been waiting on: Promise of Renewed Strength

Promise of Renewed Strength

Isaiah 40:31

God gives us the promise of renewed strength for those who hope in the Lord.

This renewal, symbolized by soaring like eagles, assures believers of God’s transforming power.

In Christ, this promise is fully realized as He is the source of our spiritual renewal and strength.

A Passion to Know God

Christ becomes the focus and center of our entire lives.

We desire above all else the great peace we derive from knowing Him—peace so great that we are willing to suffer loss in everything so that we might come to experience His presence and working in our lives…
