OPENING: The Silent Symphony
OPENING: The Silent Symphony
A few years ago (2012-2013), astronaut Chris Hadfield was aboard the International Space Station when he experienced something that changed his perspective forever. As the station orbited Earth at 17,500 miles per hour, he watched sixteen sunrises and sunsets in a single day. But it wasn't just the beauty that struck him—it was the silence.
In that vast expanse of space, there was no sound. No wind, no birds, no human chatter. Yet Hadfield later described it as the loudest place he'd ever been. The aurora dancing across Earth's atmosphere, the lightning storms flickering like camera flashes across continents, the delicate curve of our planet against the infinite black—it all seemed to be shouting something profound without making a sound.
When he returned to Earth, reporters asked what surprised him most about space. His answer was unexpected: "The realization that creation has been having this conversation with us all along, and we've been too busy to listen."
You see, every morning when you step outside, creation isn't just sitting there passively. The sunrise isn't merely a weather event—it's a declaration. The stars aren't just distant balls of gas—they're proclamation points in God's cosmic manuscript. Even that annoying rooster that wakes you up at dawn? He's part of the chorus.
Today we're going to discover that God has been speaking to us through two megaphones: His creation and His Word. The question isn't whether He's communicating—the question is whether we're tuned in to hear what He's been saying all along.
INTRO: We can recognize God’s presence both in the natural world and through Scripture, encouraging us to find strength and direction in our faith.

But His presence is only part of it… His glory is what overshadows everything!

Romans 1:18–23 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

Illustrate that just as gold and honey are valuable, so are God's decrees; they provide both wealth and satisfaction.
This should reassure the believer that obeying God's Word yields rich spiritual rewards and that His promises are sweeter than anything the world offers.

Psalm 19:12–14 Who can discern His errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
