Because of the Anointing

Introduction

Have you ever wondered why other people seem to float through life on a flowery bed of ease. But we go through trial after trial, after trial. One battle after another battle, after another battle! I hear the Lord saying that so many of us have been going through some deep dark trials, some of us fel like we are on fire right now and the world is on fire. Our hair is on fire.

See what some of us encounter, are not everyday trials, but trials and tribulations that do not make sense in the normal understanding. I am talking about downright trials of evil that has come upon us and hits us in ways that we could not expect. Could bot believe, that does not make sense. We ask ourselves how?! It is because some of us are a threat to hell and the anointing over us has left a mark on us that scares the enemy. Last week I preached on how the anointing breaks the yokes and burdens in our lives. This week I want to talk to you about standing in the anointing of God against the enemy.

Because you are anointed, the enemy is going to take potshots at you that will make weak people quit and unbelieving people surrender in the face of the horde of evil descending.

I am not talking about hardships that are self-created. Too many Christians say “well the enemy is after me,” when their life choices and decision have made life hard for them. They are reaping what they have sown. My bible says if you sow a wind, you will reap a whirlwind! Can I get an Amen!?

If you sow into your flesh, you will reap the rewards of the flesh. That means each and everyone of us has to maintain a discipline of intentionality! We have to intentionally choose to walk closer with God. We have to intentionally choose to walk in the face of adversity.

Because adversity will come. The devil will come. My bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” He walks around like a roaring lion.

Acts 28:1-6

And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

In today’s passage, we are looking at Paul being transported by ship to Rome, to stand before Caesar for the testimony of his faith! On the journey to Rome, the Roman soldiers and prisoners are about to face certain calamity and Paul warns them, but they do not listen. They could have avoided a hardship in their life, if they would have just listened to good advice. But God in his abundant and everlasting mercy sends an Angel to Paul and Acts 27:24 “Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.” God has given them all to Paul, in other words, the fate of the shipmates, the fate of the other prisoners, the fate of the Roman soldiers are tied to Paul’s fate. God says to Paul, fear not, you must be brought before Caesar and they will be with you! That tells me something, In situations that seem turbulent, you better trust in the anointed presence of God. You don’t get on a plane and when turbelence strikes, you begin to start reacting maniac and screaming. You trust in the anointing. You turst that God will deliver you through these storms. Can I get an Amen!? Hallelujah, God is good and his mercy endures forever!

I do not care how bad it gets. I do not care how big the problem looks. I do not care how infamous or terrifying a situation appears. We have to remember from last weeks message, that where the anointing is present, the burdens and yokes are shattered! Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, That his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, And his yoke from off thy neck, And the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

The only question we need to be asking ourselves is “where is the anointing in my life?!” Not the Pastors life, or is the anointing in the church. No, it is where it the anointing so that I can break the yoke of the enemy! When we are going through hell, and the devil is trying to kill me or kill my family, or steal, kill, and destroy blessings in my life, or sow division and is attempting to establish hell on earth. The only thing I want at that time, is the anointed presence of the Holy Ghost in my life! I am looking for what my bible calls “the anointing!”

God is looking for those of us who can stand up, those of us who will stand in the gap and make up a hedge of protection before him and the land where the devil is living and operating in. God doesn’t need church or congregation that are stiff-necked, but a church that will stand between the gap of hell and kingdom of God on earth. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Paul was not just a man but an anointed man. Your victory, your healing, your miracle, your deliverance, your destiny is empowered by the anointing. It does not matter if you sound good while preaching or teaching, if the anointing is not on your life, you are powerless! I cannot stress the importance of the anointing on your life enough!

Wherever you are, your presence is a blessing to those in your life and to those around you! Why?, because the anointing power of God is inside of you, is on you, and Psalm 23:4–5 “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

Let me tell you something, in the presence of my enemies my cup runneth over. In the presence of my enemies, I sit at feast prepared for me by my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil! No evil! Why, because my God is right beside me and protecting me and correcting me and comforting me! My God, my God! King of kings and Lord of Lords! YESHUA HAMASHIACH!

Because of the anointing on your life: lives are going to be preserved, souls are going to be saved, Satan cannot succeed, because Satan’s plans are going to fail.

In our scriptures, we are looking at the Apostle Paul surviving a storm, surviving a shipwreck, and surviving a viper being wrapped around his hand. Let me say something about these vipers, these vipers were so dangerous that the Malta islanders seen horrible deaths from the poison of these snake bites. As soon as they saw this viper hanging on Paul’s hand, they began forceasting his death.

I want to stop right here and say something else: How many people do you know that have already forecasted the death of someone in a spiritual struggle! So many self-proclaimed Christians, so many self-professed children of God are watching you go through something and have already forecasted your death! My bible tells me that anointing removes burdens and the yokes of the enemy from our lives! Right now, I want you to prophesy to yourself - what the enemy is forecasting is wrong, because the anointing has shattered the chains and the strongholds around me and in me. I rebuke what the enemy has forecasted in my life!

Someone here, knows someone that has been going through a proverbial ringer. Some of us have been attacked and right now they are forecasting our spirutal deaths or our failures in our physical life. But Christ Jesus has given us life! John 1:4 “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” 1 John 5:12 “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”

This may come as a shock but there are people in our lives that rejoice when we are bit. They rejoice when we fail. They rejoice when something dies in our life or someone. There is evil out there and they have began forecasting your death, taking pleasure in your pain and laughing on the inside to see you cry.

I am reminded in this moment of Joseph’s brother who threw him in a pit and left him there to die. They entertained themselves listening to Joseph’s cries for help. I know this is horrible and it sounds vicious, but the truth is evil people enjoy your suffering. They say things like:

I knew they were not going to make it.

I knew that their marriage would not last.

I knew they could not afford that house.

I knew they were not qualified for that job.

I knew the church would fail.

I knew their children would end up on drugs or lose their kids.

Notice these words; they watched him, expecting him to die! But Paul did not die. I want to prophesy to someone, you are getting ready to disappoint someone because they already had you dead, they wrote your epitaph on your grave-stone. John 1:4 “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

My bible says I was dead in my trespasses but I am alive! I am not saying there will never be another battle, another snake waiting to strike, but 1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Romans 8:31 “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:38–39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Going through a fire

Some of us are going through a fire right now. You are under attack right now. Sickness has attached itself to you right now. Debt has attached itself to you right now. Family problems, or marital problems have attached to you right now. Fear has attached itself to you right now. Right now the glands of that great serpent is salivating to strike you and pump poison in your life right now:

Trying to kill you.

Trying to kill your marriage.

Trying to kill your ministry.

Trying to kill your faith.

Trying to kill your peace.

Trying to kill your joy.

Trying to kill your dreams.

And right now if feels like the devil is winning! But, I just want you to move your neck and raise your shoulders and remind yourself that the anointing presence and power and promise of the Holy Spirit has already removed the burdens and yokes from your life and the fire you feel in this moment is temporary because what God has in store for you deliver you Isaiah 43:2 “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; Neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”

Can I get an Amen!? Hallelujah! We have to remind ourselves to tell the Satan he is a liar, and the father of all lies. He is the very first murderer. We are not dying. We are not quitting. We are not giving up. We are not rollover and allow your necks to be chopped off. That anyone watching us forecasting our deaths, that that they will be disappointed and the devil can try and sink his fangs into our lives but but God is the Jehovah Rapha and is our Great Physician.

I know it hurts but God will heal it. I know it looks bad, but God will turn it around. I know your crying now but Joy is coming. Weeping may endure for the night but Joy comes in the morning. Somebody reading these words right now, maybe you’re like Paul; you just survived the sea, and lived through a shipwreck, and now you’ve been attacked by a deadly Viper. Or you just got out of the lions den and now you’ve been thrown into the fiery furnace. Or you just got out of debt, and now sickness has hit your body. Or you just got your car paid off and your house caught on fire. Or you just got your job back and now your marriage is under attack. You’re wondering: Why me? What have I done? Why is it happening to me? You say, I love God, I go to church, I tithe, I sow into the Lord’s work, I read his Word, I try to live holy, it doesn’t make sense. You say, I thought I was anointed. I thought the hand of God was on my life. Well I know this is going to sound crazy, but that is exactly why it’s happening to you. (It’s because you are anointed) It’s because the hand of God is on your life. It’s because you are a threat to hell. It’s because you won’t compromise. It’s because you are lifting a standard of holiness, in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation. It’s because every time the devil looks at you he sees Jesus. It’s because every time the devil hears you speak he hears Jesus. It’s because every time you take a step, the devil sees Jesus walking. No my friend: It doesn’t mean you have done anything wrong. It doesn’t mean God is angry at you.

What it means is: You are anointed and you are a threat to hell and the devil is afraid of what God is doing in your life, and he hates you, and the anointing on your life makes you a target. Was Joseph anointed? Absolutely Was God with him? Absolutely Was David Anointed? Absolutely Then why did they go through what they went through? Why did Joseph’s brothers try to kill him? Why did Saul try to kill David repeatedly? (Because they were anointed) If the devil knows about anything it’s the anointing: He was the anointed cherub, the worship leader of heaven. He knows the anointing of God and he hates it, because you have what he had and he lost it. The anointing on your life makes you are a target. You ought to be shouting right there: If it seems like the devil has singled you out, and all hell has broken loose against you, that means the devil has recognized your anointing.

That means, you are now on his radar screen, which means you are someone he’s concerned about. That means, you make him uncomfortable. He wouldn’t be worried about you, if you weren’t anointed. He wouldn’t be bothering you if you weren’t a threat to him. You make him uncomfortable. You give him sleepless nights. I don’t know about you but I like that, I want to make the devil uncomfortable, I want him to worry about me. I want him to be afraid that everywhere I go people are going to get saved. Somebody is going to get healed, and somebody is going to get delivered. Miracles and signs and wonders are going to happen because I’m anointed. Just say that again...  I’m anointed. Why has the devil launched an all out attack on your life? Your family, your finances, your ministry, your health? Because you’re anointed. If the devil knew what was going to happen because of his attacks, he would have left you alone. If the devil would have known that by crucifying Jesus he was opening the way of salvation to the world, and making a way for the power of the Holy Ghost to come and live and manifest through us: He would have never done it. The Bible says, had the princes of this world known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory. And if the devil knew what God was about to do in your life because of his attacks, he would have left you alone. But he thought he was going to kill you. He thought he was going to take you out. He thought he was going to destroy you. He thought he was going to break you. He thought you would quit. He thought he would crush you. He thought you would get full of his poison, and become bitter and critical and resentful and angry. But he was wrong. You see, Paul didn’t die, and you didn’t die. Yes that Viper sunk his fangs into his flesh and shot that poison into his body, but when that poison hit the anointing that poison died.    

And the anointing just got stronger.    

The anointing went to another level.    

Paul’s testimony went to another level.

Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, That his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, And his yoke from off thy neck, And the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

Some of you know that the vipers of hell have been unleashed against you, and you’ve been bit and it hurts. The fangs are real and they hurt. But you’re not going to die: You’re shaking it off and moving up. You’re going to another level in the anointing. You’re testimony just went to another level. You’re going to walk with a greater anointing and a greater authority than ever before. You’re going to cast out bigger devils than before. You’re faith is going to take you places you could never go before. The things that used to trip you up and hold you down, aren’t going to bother you anymore. More people will be healed and delivered. More be people will be blessed because of your testimony. The anointing does not exempt you from the bite of the viper, but it gives you power over his poison. Not only did Paul shake the viper off and survive...

He shook him off into the fire. That means: That viper’s life ended. In other words, that viper never bit another person. That viper was destroyed because of the anointing. I prophesy to you right now; there are Vipers that are being destroyed right now because of the anointing on your life. Something that has plagued you for years. Something that you have wrestled with for years. Something that has dogged your heels and rode your back for years… It’s being destroyed because of the anointing. Vipers of sickness. Vipers of financial problems. Vipers of marital problems. Vipers of spiritual problems. Vipers of addictions, and habits, and bondages of the flesh. Vipers that came to steal kill and destroy: are being shaken off into the fire right now, and their power is being broken, (because of the anointing) That poison is dying now: Vipers are feeling the fire right now. The anointing is rising up. The anointing is growing. The anointing is increasing. The devil meant it for evil, but God meant it for good to increase my anointing.

If you receive this lift your hands and begin to praise him right now…    

That the anointing is increasing in your life    

That you are not going under, but you are going over    

You’re not expiring, you’re refiring.

Somebody needs to praise God right now, that the devil couldn’t make it stick. Somebody needs to praise God that the anointing is greater than anything the devil can devise against you. Ye are of God little children and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. 1 Jn 4:4 Somebody needs to praise him for a poison busting no stick anointing. Yes I was bit, but you couldn’t make it stick. Yes it hurt and I cried, but you couldn’t make it stick. Yes I went down hard, but I hit my knees and I’m getting up stronger.
