ALL RISE… Enter the Bride!!!... Cheyanne comes in a carriage with her parents.
Statement of purpose: We are here on this beautiful day to celebrate and recognize before our Lord and you, as witnesses, the beautiful union of marriage between this man and woman.
Welcome the Guest and Prayer: (Praises, blessing, invite)
Their Brief Story of Kellen & Cheyanne:
As this couple stands before you today, they want all to know and understand that they view their marriage far more than just a legal union (August 13, 2024); this union is, in fact, a covenant they enter into with each other and the Lord Almighty. You, as friends and family, serve as witnesses of this covenant and as celebrants with them today.
What is Marriage: 1) God’s Design 2)A Picture 3) A Covenant
Marriage is God’s Creation and Design... In Genesis, we see that after God had created all we see, He said something was not good. He said it is not good for man to be alone. So, God, in His wisdom, created the perfect companion for him… a woman. He brought her to him, as I believe God has brought the two of you together as we'll. When God created Eve, He created her as a helpmate. (Holy Spirit) Just as Cheyanne is to be your helpmate. Adam and Eve together were to accomplish together what neither one of them could do alone. Adam and Eve were to rule together!... (King & Queen!)
It is a picture… God’s love for us is so profound that He uses the picture of marriage to express how deeply He loves His Church. Ephesians 5:22-33 Kellen and Cheyanne, you get to illustrate to all who are here and to the world God’s love through your own marriage! I believe your marriage will paint a beautiful masterpiece for all to see. Let me encourage you to allow the Lord to hold the brush and let your marriage be His tapestry.
It is a covenant... Marriage is a covenant or a promise between God and this couple, never to be broken. The commitment you are making to each other today is a lifelong commitment before the Lord and all these people. (A Covenant of Love)
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 a Many times in scripture, we see God giving us a symbol that reminds us of His covenant. Today, that symbol will be the exchanging of rings, and your covenant will be your vows.
Kellen & Cheyanne have chosen to give us another picture of this covenant by partaking of communion together…
Direct couple to communion:
This picture illustrates how these two will become one, not only with each other, but also with their Lord and Savior. What God joins together should not be separated by any person. Communion… It is a picture of what Christ did for us at Calvary. His death, burial, and resurrection allow us to become His bride and, as such, be one with Him!
Exchange of Vows: (personally written)
- Groom to Bride… written out
Cheyanne,
First and foremost, I want to thank the Lord God Almighty for bringing us together. Every time my eyes meet yours, I’m reminded of just how amazing our God truly is, and I’m overwhelmed with a deep, unwavering sense of gratitude that He led me to you.
Our marriage may not have started in the most traditional way, but our journey has been wonderfully and uniquely ours. As of today, we’ve already been husband and wife for 11 months, 6 days, and—checks watch—23 hours and 35 minutes. And every moment of that time has deepened my love for you and my gratitude for the life we share.
I promise that no matter what life brings, you can always count on me to be your constant—your teammate, your protector, and your greatest supporter.
I vow to cherish every moment we share, to never take for granted what a miracle it is to walk through life with someone who makes me feel so deeply loved and understood.
I promise to be your best friend—the one who truly hears you, who meets you with empathy instead of judgment, and who stands faithfully by your side through whatever comes our way.
And above all, I promise to keep choosing you, every single day—with love, with joy, and with unwavering faith. I will love you fiercely, humbly, and wholeheartedly for the rest of my life.
- Bride’s response to Groom… written out
Almost two years ago, I met a sweet, amazing, and very attractive man and something just clicked. From the beginning, our connection felt natural and deep in a way I hadn’t experienced before. From the moment I met you I knew you were the one. You’re my best friend, favorite person, and my greatest adventure.
You’ve shown me what real love looks like – patient, playful, honest, and kind. You’ve taught me that home isn’t a place, it’s a person.
I thank God every day for bringing you into my life. I know our meeting wasn’t by chance, it was part of His perfect plan. I admire how determined, patient, humble, and loving you are.
A year ago, we decided to jump in and get married and start our life together in Alabama. The courthouse may not have been glamorous, but that day became something special, with the help of party favors from Walmart and the love of our family.
Since then, we’ve grown together, faced challenges, and made memories that I’ll carry with me forever like your dance moves.
I promise to love you when we’re at our best and even more when we’re not. I promise to support you, to be honest and vulnerable with you, to listen and comfort you, and to let you lead.
I vow to keep Christ at the center of our marriage, to pray with you and for you, and to seek wisdom from Him in all that we do.
I promise to never stop learning with you, laughing with you, and growing with you.
And yes I promise to keep making bread and always add extra chocolate chips to everything I bake.
I’m so excited about the future we’ll create. Wherever life takes us, through calm skies or turbulence, I promise to always be your copilot, your partner, and your biggest fan.
I choose you today, tomorrow, and every day after.
I love you forever and for always.
Exchange of the Rings: (as they place rings on the left hand)
In your covenant relationship, the rings that you are about to exchange symbolize your commitment to honoring the marriage covenant and are precious symbols of the vows you have made to each other. As symbols, your rings, thereby, serve as visual reminders to all the vows you made. Repeat after me:
- Groom to Bride: “I give you Cheyanne this ring as a symbol of my commitment to you and my heart’s desire to be faithful to my vows, and thereby, seal this covenant of marriage.”
- Bride's Response to Groom: “I give you Kellen this ring as a symbol of my commitment to you and my heart’s desire to be faithful to my vows, and thereby, seal this covenant of marriage.”
Pronouncement
As you, Kellen and Cheyanne, have made a covenant before God and these witnesses, and have pledged their faithfulness to each other, it is with joy that I pronounce you husband and wife, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. What God has joined together, let no man tear apart.
- Kellen, you may kiss your Bride… AGAIN!
