Order

Our verses today are from the Book of First Corinthians Ch 14
We follow a predictable flow to our worship, but the point is to avoid distractions.
Be as clear as possible.
Imagine a scene where two or more are preaching, each seeking to out due each other
Or people continually interupting with outburst.
Heck i would leave that church
especially if the outburst were in language
My closest experience was in Aruba a few years ago
Spanish and English at the same time....
I make a point of the need for a plan, to preach clearly, etc..
Buckle up ——

God is the God of Order

Our study of 1 Cor has been about a few things
Unity in the Congregation, Community, and Country
Unity in Truth, not man’s way
Understanding that the Corinthinians were a people that mirror too many of our issues today
Our Sin nature —- wants what we want, not submission
We are like little children, We cry and complain when something doesn’t go our way
We want all the Freedom and little of the Responsiblity
We often want church to be part of our life and not our life
We project that on to Jesus… Be there when i need you, but speak only when your spoken to Jesus
We are here on Sundays to Learn to be Different, To Seek change in our Character, Get encouragement when we need Hope
We are here to PUT HIM FIRST IN ALL THINGS
To Glorify God by Growing Others in Christ.

Organization

Most of us desire organization
To many of us that appears in the form of “some thing predictable or expected.”
Even the most disorganized person that you know , has a degree of Organization.
Today worship in many church is very similar
welcome and announcements
2 -3 songs
a message
closing song
prayer
BUT are we doing it according to the Bible?
disruption, ——normally doesn’t happen at Horizon
But it was happening in the Church of Corinth
and it happens today.
In my years in church, i have witnessed
People standing up and shouting in the middle of service
People getting up and loudly leaving when they hear something they didn’t like
I have experienced, people side tracking study groups
Arguing their opinion
We are in a BODY of CHRIST
and the GOD OF ORDER gives us our Focus
To get to know HIM, to be in relationship
These verses are calling out issues that hinder that.
Using our gifts for the church
Means in unity in harmony with God’s purpose
To do everything in love
this means positive encouragement and discipline and correction
Our worship time needs to be
Give in Love
Given by the Holy Spirit
Used for Strengthening, Encouraging, and comfort
Prophesy today and every day —— to Glorify God
Tongues to communicate with others —
Neither is to be a Distraction to our worship time
Listen to this
1 Corinthians 14:26–33 “26 What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.
27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret.
28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God.
29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said.
30 If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent.
31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged,
32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.
33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,”
We are to COME TOGETHER
We should SING and PRAISE
We should be learning
Having Revelation of HIS TRUTH
PURPOSE CALL:
TO BUILD UP HIS BODY OF BELIEVERS
we Should all be part of that PURPOSE
We must learn to do so in a ORDER
I read this week many a preacher saying this is not simply connected to TONGUES
Hearing language that needs interpretation
For Prophesy is CLEAR teaching for HIS PEOPLE
Prophesy is TRUTH explained and EXPOSED to you.
1 Corinthians 14:33 “33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,”
I want to leave you a piece of WISDOM from my personal experience
Rarely is GOD’s Way going to be CONFUSION
CHAOS is the Tool of Satan
Crowd panic
News Reactions with out Verification
Order is the Way of our Lord
God telling you to LISTEN AND VERIFY
I don’t say this to hurt anyone.
BUT you should have a pen and pad with you at church
you should be taking NOTES, recording Wisdom
and the WHOLE point is to SEARCH and VERIFY on your OWN
YES YES YES
you would be “going Berean”
I told you that so many times i love to listen to others preach —-during the week
In the beginning it was for Learning
Now it is to be challenged and Verification
In other Word, i listen to sharpen my discernment tools
“IS what the Pastor saying TRUTH or HIS TRUTH”
Does it align
If it seems odd, will i Pause Pray and Ponder
Will i stand for TRUTH
In Seminary i was known for challenging. surprise
Some one would write something in the Forums
and if it didn’t make sense,
i would ask
WHERE DOES THAT COME FROM
HELP ME UNDERSTAND YOUR VIEW POINT
HERE IS A STUDY and LIFE TOOL
BIBLICAL, HISTORICAL, and CULTURAL
Remember it for it is the ONLY WAY
Look God never says
interpret as you see fit
Trust on YOUR understanding
God nevers says
Life your best life and use my WORD
He says OBEY
You need to develop your DISCERNMENT
You need to Ask
IS THAT IN SCRIPTURE?
Is that interpretation in LINE?
ORDER NOT CHAOS

Women in church

Okay i have avoided this topic long enough
a weak Pastor preaches for the Praise of Church
a wise Pastor preaches to Glorify God and Grow Others
FRIENDS
God’s Word is everlasting
unchanging
Isaiah 40:8 ESV
8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
James 1:17 “17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
Malachi 3:6 “6 “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.”
Matthew 24:35 “35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”
No where does it exist in Scripture that God’s Word changes to the DEMANDS of CULTURE
it is why we need to KNOW HIM
Hear HIS WORD
1 Corinthians 14:34–35 ESV
34 the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 35 If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.
it is NOT to make women LESS THAN
it is for ORDER
Submission is a GIFT FROM GOD
not a tool to make you feel less than
Frankly
this verse causes HUGE divisions in the CHURCH
And it shouldn’t
Let me ask the women here today a question
Do you believe God is erred?
Is Cultural talk and desire —- more important than HIS WORD
We cannot have people interupting GOD’s Word through the Prophesy of the ONEs that GOD CALLED
Frankly we worry more about being SHOOSHED
then the Wisdom around us
God is saying BE QUIET
BE QUIET and listen
In football —- all have a purpose and a PLAY is called into the HUDDLE
In church, God gives the Pastor and Elders the PLAY
and YOU NEED TO PLAY YOUR ROLE, use your gifts and OBEY HIS ORDER
here is my question for the women
IS THERE ANY SHORTAGE OF WOMEN IN THIS WORLD that need to HEAR the GOOD NEWS of JESUS
if women tune into the NEED OF THE GOSPEL
and obey GOD’s WORD
1 Corinthians 11:5 ESV
5 but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven.
Women, Man ——-
Purpose is Matthew 28:19 “19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
It is a PRIDE IS
You husband is called to Ephesians 5:25–27 “25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.”
Wife’ HELP YOUR HUSBAND LEAD
You should be submissive, as your Husband is Submission
as CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH
If you reacted negative to GOD’s WORD, then first WE LOVE YOU
GOD LOVES YOU
GOD’s word does NOT change to CULTURE
The issue of women in ministry in Christianity became a widespread and contentious topic in the mid-20th century, particularly in the United States. While the question of women's roles had been present earlier, it gained prominence with the rise of Holiness and Pentecostal denominations ordaining women in the first half of the 20th century. This later spurred broader discussions and changes in other denominations like Presbyterians, Methodists, and Lutherans in the following decades
Denominational causation NOT Biblical
Not since Gen 1:11
not at the CROSS
It started in the mid 20th century
What do you want to follow —— Thousands of Years in our Bible
or cultural influence
What is culture in 20 years?
I can promise you GOD’s Word will be the same
i invite you to Respectfully and Biblical challenge this message today
I challenge you to GO BEREAN
Write your questions —- MAN call your Pastor, Women with Husbands ASK THEM, PONDER WITH THEM, HELP THEM
BE WHO GOD CALLED YOU TO BE.
Single women —— call you SISTERS in CHRIST
A true SISTER in CHRIST follows BIBLE< HISTORY< and then explains how to LIVE IN OUR CULTURE
Friends in the END
it is SIMPLE
GOD called this CHURCH into Existence
God called YOUR Pastor to LEAD and TEACH
God called your Husband to Wash you in the WORD
God called the Single women to be MENTORED by the MATURE women
Friends i could preach on this subject another couple of hours
But i am going to stop and PRAY
I am going to leave you to your NOTES, to your STUDY, to your Seeking of HIS KNOWLEDGE
READ HIS WORD on this subject his week.
1 Corinthians 14:40 ESV
40 But all things should be done decently and in order.
Follow and OBEY His order… trust in God, not the world
Lets pray
