According to John 3:16, what does God love? - the world
How did God demonstrate that He loves the world? - He gave the world Jesus
Why did Jesus come to the world? - to die on the cross to forgive our sins
Introduction: Last night, friends, we learned that the way that God demonstrated that He loves the world is through sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.
Tonight, friends, you heard in the first line of our song that “God is faithful.” But what does that mean that God is faithful?
Friends, for God to be faithful, that means that whatever He says that He’s going to do, He will do it!
Friends, we read in Genesis 3:15 that God promised to send the Savior that we need to rescue us from what our sin deserves - “15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.””
And, friends, God sent that Savior in Jesus! - 1 John 4:14 “14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.”
Therefore, friends, when God promises that He will never leave or forsake those who have believed on Jesus to save them, you can count on that promise, Hebrews 13:5b “He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,””
Friends, this promise is true only if you have believed on Jesus to save you from your sins.
Believe on Him today!
Conclusion: Friends, God will do what He’s promised to do (repeat with me).
Tomorrow night, we’re going to learn more about our song “I Believe Jesus Saves”.
