Holiness begins with God and He calls His people to be Holy. God's holiness is pure righteousness and goodness. God's work of sanctity in us is the progressive work of His Spirit in us and our abstaining from sin. We were sinner apart from Christ, but in Christ we are called to be saints and share in God's Holy nature.
