One Bad Compromise One Bad Compromise Leads to Plenty Mo

1 Kings 22:3 And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria? 4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.

To begin with Brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and Saints of God One bad compromise will lead to plenty mo, sometimes, dozens mo. listen to me a bad decision can lead to an awful compromise and you’ll say to yourself How in the world did I allow myself to goo this far down the wrong road. And at some point soon you’re either going to stop and get off that road or you’ll be devoured by life’s circumstances.

One bad decision leads to one bad compromise and in order for that to work you’ll have to make another bad compromise and another bad compromise and another bad compromise.

When yo tell a lie, and then after a while you have to tell another lie to cover up that lie, and then another lie, and then another lie. And sooner or later things go arie.

You can’t invite evil in, then when you’ve have enough of getting at somebody else, then you decide that you no longer need or want evil around, oh But here’s the thing, Once you let evil in, evil takes on a mind of its own, and you can’t turn evil on and off like a light switch.

And so we have a kinship alliance that causes dangerous, disasterous, devastating, and a nearly deadly outcome. He barely made it out with his life.

Can I tell the story? There was King Ahab the bible says he was the wickedest king Israel ever had I call him king ain’t never happy Ahab . Then there was Jehoshaphat King of Judah. Jehoshaphat was a godly king. I call him king gullable Jehoshaphat. He followed in the ways of David and sought to please the Lord. Jehoshaphat made sure that there were competent and capable teaching priests who were sent out all over the land to make sure God’s people were getting the right interpretation of God’s word.

Jehoshaphat also assigned administrative priests to handle the people’s disputes and disagreements and quarrels. The Priests would serve as judges and anything too big they would in turn bring it to King Jehoshaphat. And Jehoshaphat would bring it to the Lord. King Jehoshaphat was a good king. Yea 3x.

And the more I read about him the more I say Man Jehoshaphat why you hooked up with that dirty rotten no good ain’t never happy Ahab.

Man everybody knows Ahab ain’t No Good. But even good kingly and godly leaders can sometimes be compromised at some point. Jehoshaphat made three Bad compromises

1. The Bride Compromise. In the Bride Compromise King Jehoshaphat allowed his son to marry Ahab and Jezebel’s daughter. And then that led to the Battle Compromise.

2. The Battle Compromise In the Battle Compromise Jehoshaphat got involved and entangled in his son’s father - in - law affairs. Wait nah It ain’t none of my problem.… And some stuff ain’t none of your problem… You can’t solve everybody else problems. You better take care of your own stuff. You jumping in the koolide and you don’t even know what the flavor is.

#3. Finally there was The Boat Compromise In the Boat Compromise this occurred when Jehoshaphat foolishly join forces with Ahab’s son Ahaziah in a get rich scheme by importing foreign good, Yes Indeed. And the bible says in 1Kings 22:48-49 that the Lord wrecked his fleet of ships and rebuked Jehoshaphat for forging such a sinful alliance. Brothers and sisters One bad compromise can lead to another and another and another and before you know it you’re so far from the landing until you’re way out at sea without a life jacket and the ship is going down. In other words you’re up the creek without a paddle.

Well I don’t have sufficient time to talk about the Bride compromise or the Boat compromise it would take too long to explain them in one sermon. But I can give us some brief nuggets on the Battle compromise.

And so here it is long story short, King Ahab wanted to take back some of the land of Syria. So king ain’t never happy Ahab decides that when Jehoshaphat came over to visit he would spring his evil plan on him.

Can I use ebonics and 2025 language to explain what happened ( We having a family get together everybody eating and drinking at the barbecue and having a good time, Then all of a sudden cousin Ain’t never Happy Ahab comes up to you. And says He cuz come help me fight Syria infidels. And you eating and drinking and having a good time and without thinking it through you say yeah.

And brothers and sisters cousin Ain’t never Happy Ahab picking with puckey nem. Puckey nem ain’t done him nothing he just picking on them. Somebody ask me why he doing it Rev. Because he’s ain’t never happy Ahab. In fact king Ahab is mad because the Lord allowed Syria to acquire some of their land. Somebody ask me why God did that Rev? Several things 1.Because Ain’t Happy Ahab went and done took Naboth vineyard and killed him for it.

2. Ain’t never happy Ahab and his godless wife Jezebel done cause the whole nation to worship Baal and Elijah had to come and tell the church How long halt ye between two opinions and God straighten things out using fire from heaven.

3. And Ain’t never happy Ahab let’s his wife Jezebel run all over him and she’s got a daughter that done married Jehoshaphat’s son and the daughter running all over Jehoshaphat’s son too. Teach me Pastor Allen

And King Ain’t never happy Ahab has posed a military question to King Jehoshaphat. In verse 3 &4 the bible says “ And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria? 4 And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.

Brothers and sisters let me talk to king Jehoshaphat for a minute...

( soft voice)

“King Jehoshaphat that’s a bad compromise. It’s a bad decision and it’s going to turn out pretty bad for you. Don’t do this me it will be one of the worst decisions you ever made.

And brothers and sisters every person makes decisions because we all have Free Will.

And so the bible says that king ain’t never happy Ahab was seduced by false prophets but that isn’t anything new because his wife is the queen of seduction, the queen of ho do voo doo, lying spirits and the like. Man you got to be careful who you listen to. All of the false prophets and fake priests and fony preachers are saying just what Ain’t never happy Ahab wants to hear....6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king. What this means is that they are getting paid to say just what the current administration says. In 2025 if anybody in the executive branch says anything outside of what the commander on chief wants they’re fired. And I’ve never seen so many corrupt mega preachers before this current movement.

God is not pleased with that. And we should never allow worldly ideal or ideas or ideologies to dictate to our spiritual relationship with God.

Hold up nah I’m going somewhere with this because in King guallable Jehoshaphat’s spirit man he senses that something isn’t quite right. Something ain’t right 3x So look at verse 7,8,& 9 Let’s read them together “And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him? 8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so. I have at least three things here.

1. Jehoshaphat realizes suspects and have suspitions about the shady 400 false preachers prophets and priests that Ahab had prophetcying . So he says in affect Cuz you ain’t got nobody else besides these jokers here.

2. Then king ain’t never happy Ahab said yeah it’s got a preacher named Micaiah but I can’t stand him. In fact I hate him. Jehoshaphat said why cuz.

3. Because Micaiah ain’t never got nothing good to say about me. I mean never that’s why he ain’t welcome around here. and Jehoshaphat said ah cousin king Ahab say it ain’t so.

Then comes the pompt and circumstances in verse 9-12 Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, Hasten hither Micaiah the son of Imlah. 10 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah sat each on his throne, having put on their robes, in a void place in the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them. 11 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them. 12 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the king's hand.

They got spectacular show going on.

1. they got their chief priest Zedekiah making iron horns to blow like battle horns. But research suggest that If they would be making horns it would have been ram horns. Teach me pastor.

2. They all prophesied oh yeah king Ahab you’re going to crush the Syrians the victory will be ours.

3. So king so up at once to Ramoth-gilead and prosper and and here’s where it gets abominable. They lied and said and The LORD shall deliver it into thine hand...…

Hold up they are Baal worshipers but now are using the good name of the LORD! And the Word LORD is capitalized in your bible and that means that it’s the full weigh of God official name. I looked it up in the Hebrew vernacular it’s the name Jehovah Adonai. And that’s the national Jewish Name for God even unto this day. And that says to me that some people will call upon the name of God and don’t bit mo mean it than the man on the moon.

And so here comes the entry of Micaiah the prophet

13 And the messenger that was gone to call Micaiah spake unto him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good. 14 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.

And this is where your word is your bond. Micaiah doesn’t have a dog in the fight, he’s just going to tell the truth anyway it goes. The messenger said look Micaiah you go in there and say good stuff you hear! Everybody in there saying good stuff to the king. In fact it’s got two king in there. Nah go in there and say good stuff. And Micaiah said listen man What ever the LORD say to me that’s what I’m going to say. That’ it and that’s all.

And so they bring Micaiah before the thrones of King gullable Jehoshaphat and King ain’t never happy Ahab and the bible says in verses 15 So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king. 16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?

Wait nah wait wait wait. Micaiah looked at the politics of the moment and said to himself you know what ok ok ok ok I’ll go along with this foolishness. And than king ain’t never happy Ahab said, Now why you gon lie nah. You ain’t never said nothing good before. Don’t say nothing good now because King Jehoshaphat is here.

And then all of a sudden the word of Lord had Micaiah say ALL ya’ll are going to be slain at Ramoth-gilead.

Micaiah said you can have all these fake preachers on your side all you want, and you can have guallble king Jehoshaphat who don’t know what he’s getting into all you want but y’all going down. Micaiah said because the Lord showed me that all Israel were scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace. 18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?

Then King Ain’t never happy said cousin Jehoshaphat I told you he wasn’t going to have anything good to say about me. I told you that. And when you do wrong stuff You in your own heart don’t expect people to say that you’re good or righteous. Ahab knew he was wrong and in reality he wanted Micaiah to tell him he was wrong.

But that’s not all it gets worse Micaiah said believe it or not but God Humself sent a lying spirit to all of your fake phony foolish faulty preacher and they are testifying and testi lying and you’ll believe em Hook line and sinker!

And the bible says that Zedekiah jumped up and went close to Micaiah and punched him on his cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee? Lord have mercy ( You got to get beat up for telling the truth). Micaiah said Zedekiah you go for bad but you gon see and awful death when thou go to thy bed chamber.

And then king ain’t never happy said go bring Micaiah to prison and feed him sparaingly until I get back in peace. Micaiah said in verse 28 king If you come back, if you manage to get back here, if you set your feet back in here!!! then Lord didn’t talk to me. yes indeed.

One bad compromise led to more bad decision making and it get’s worst, now they go to the actual battlefield in Ramothgilead.

And Ahab uses Jehoshaphat as bait. He says Hey look cuz I’m ma disguise myself and go into the battle as a warrior ok but all I want you to do is wear your royal robes and look presidental look kingly look regal because they won’t see us coming, Alright? And guallable Jehoshaphat like ain’t never happy Ahab trick him to be the bait.

And so the Iron Horns are blowing the war flags are flying and the enemy say to everybody go after the king and kill him and this battle will be over. And King Jehoshaphat doesn’t know the danger he’s put himself in… Long story short Ahab got shot in a spot that a million to one and he tells the chariot driver, pull over in the shade I’ve been wounded. And the battle goes on hot and heated and Just when they were about to get Jehoshaphat , he hollers out and says I’m not Ahab I’m not Ahab I’m not Ahab. And they let him live…

But my daddy always taught me stay off the corners because if the police caught you on the corners with them they gon take you to jail too. and ain’t nothing I’m gon be able to do for you. In closing King ain’t never happy Ahab died in the evening and the dogs licked up his blood. And Jehoshaphat went home in shame because of One bad compromising decision. It’s communion and you better examine yourself that you’re making One Bad Compromise that will lead to many bad decisions. God bless you and keep you is our prayer Thank y’all for tuning in and ya’ll come back now you hear
