Uncharted Waters

Joshua 3:4 “Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits (Just over 300 feet)by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.”

Introduction:

Way: Places, Things, Areas, never imagine you would find yourself going, doing, nor possibly seeing before you.

a. We, You: Have never done this before.

b. Path: Not even sure where all it will take you, Nor how long it well keep you there.

2. When you see the Ark move, you move, journey begins. KEEP YOOUR EYE ON THE ARK!

“...for ye have not passed this way heretofore.”

a. This 5 feet by five feet, quite a little, significant object of treasure!

b. After 40 years: Now a very dramatic change is about to hit! They were just taking the ark around and around with them but now they are following it, the manna that feed them each day found in the morninghas ceased, never to return, never. Nor would it be you fellow the cloud they have for 40 years But now the Ark they follow.

I. The Representation: The Victorious Life. “...and go after it” Joshua 3:3

A. All Christians: They have Christ But not all are following Him, But all should, Amen!

B. Victory is: “seeing which way Christ is going and following that way!”

C. Notice words these words “… from the city of Adam all the why to the salt sea.” Joshua 3:16-17 cf.

1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”

II. The Guide: God ( through these uncharted waters).

Note: Like a Pilot ship to a Harbor, or a Pilot Captain. Traced back to the Roman days.

A. Wounder seems to be the position of the Ark, now is out front. The head, Ummmm.

B. Now is not just a possession but also a position in Charge, Thrown position.. Christ becomes the head, is the type.

C. Joshua 3:4 : “...for ye have not passed this way heretofore.”

1. What:

a. We do not know the future but we know who holds it.

b. Our captain: We can rest assured, If blow up we go on, good sailing or rough we push on, we go on, Just keep your eye on the ARK.

c. If we knew everything ahead: All our storms, Our challenges, Our hurts, Our demands that would be upon us, we would probably cave. but instead we don’t know even the moments ahead.

2. Where: Abraham: Went out under orders into a land he did know where he was going, just following God.

3. College students: Admired Pastor Robert G. Lee. He heard about his friend who got to see Lee Roberson, just pulled in ask secretary to see him, and secretary said he will see you, go in. That was like seeing the president to him. But the future held not only would he see Robert G. Lee. he would set at his desk, preach from his pupit, but Pastor that church. Key, keep your eye on the ARK, Follow it.

a. Moses: He got in trouble when he got ahead of it.

b. Abraham: He got in trouble when he got ahead of it, Hagar (Ishmael, Arabs of today).

Isaiah 55:8–9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways, And my thoughts than your thoughts.”

We probably couldn’t understand it all if he told us, LOL.

III. The Power: The Lord of all the earth...Verse 13

Joshua 3:13 “And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.”

Psalm 119:89 “LAMED (Ox goad). For ever, O Lord, Thy word is settled in heaven.”

A. I claim This power: It is working in us, before us, all around us today!! It was inerrant then or even before it was ever written in any manuscript ( “...settled in Heaven”. He is faithful to all generations. Amen.

B. Indians on Tithing. All in church tithe. Ask Indian believer about it. “Well, Bible teach tithing, Indian believe Bible, Indian tithe.”

Like air, it weighs why on us and layers of it is pushing down on us but greater power or pressure in us than on us.

1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

b. Power pushing back the flood waters over flowing in a turbulent, rushing water time, that same God works in us. Listen no matter the TIMES.

Key: Keep your eye on the Ark, follow it. He has a way of making a way and there seems there is no way!!!!
