Tending to the Lampstand

Ex.27:20-21“You shall command the people of Israel that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, that a lamp may regularly be set up to burn. In the tent of meeting, outside the veil that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening to morning before the Lord. It shall be a statute forever to be observed throughout their generations by the people of Israel.

What did the priestly duty of tending to the lampstand look like?

Pure oil - continually fill the lamp so it can burn

Trimming the wick

Q - What did the lampstand do?

It was the only source of light in the tabernacle.

Rev. - before the throne of God was the seven oil lamps, which were the Spirit of God.

Q - How often did the priests have to fill them?

Daily! Sometimes multiple times a day. The lamp was to never go out. It was to burn continually.

Zak - “it’s not by power, nor by might, but by My Spirit says the Lord.”

God desired to offer a continual supply by His Spirit.
