Anointing with Oil: A means of healing applied with prayer
All healing comes from God. Sometimes He uses carrot juice, and sometimes he uses chemo.
Sometimes He heals by means of His providential order in creation.
Sometimes He miraculously intervenes.
This is why all efforts at healing, be they traditional, natural, or otherwise, are to be applied with prayer in faith.
Confess your sin and pray
Some Sickness is the Result of Sin
Supernatural (Example: taking the Lord’s Supper in an unworthy manner)
1 Corinthians 11:27–30 “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.”
Natural (Example: Homosexuality)
Romans 1:26–28 “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.”
Not all Sickness is Due to Sin
John 9:1–3 “As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
