Imagine a famous actor who gets invited to a charity gala but chooses to attend in casual attire instead of a tuxedo. When questioned, he chuckles and says, 'I’m here to serve, not to show off!' It's funny because he knows the purpose of his presence is more important than his appearance. In Matthew 20:28, we’re reminded that even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve. When we remember why we're here, it shifts our focus from pride to humility.

A story is told of a famous author who received a prestigious award. Instead of preparing an accepting speech filled with accolades for himself, he chose to speak about the countless mentors who believed in him when he couldn’t believe in himself. He thanked each one, highlighting how their support and encouragement humbled him. This story resonates with 1 Peter 5:6, where we are reminded to humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand.
