Revival comes from God’s Word.
have any of you guys ever felt like super discouraged and then someone came along and gave you like gave you like a super good pep talk.
like for me any time i find myself in a moment where I’m super down about something Britt is always there to help pick me up.
shes always there to remind me of how good things as to help pull me outta my funk. remind me of how good things really are.
ok so how about this. how many of you guys have ever felt this way in your spiritual live?
just so you guys know you’re not alone.
many christians including myself go through periods of time where we feel our faith is low.
Maybe our relationship with God isn’t as close as it used to be, or maybe you’re struggling letting go of something.
whatever the case is you’re not alone.
for the next few weeks were going to be diving into the topic of revival.
how many of you guys have heard that word before.
revival
we call you guys the revival generation.
but what does that mean?
read definition
in the late 60s early 70s there was something going on in our country that was pretty wild at the time.
out on the west coast of the country people started turning to christ in droves.
massive large amounts of people started coming to christ as revival broke out in Los Angels and quickly spread across the whole country.
it was dubbed the “jesus Movement” we started seeing communites all across the nation start to experience the falling of the holy spririt much like had happed in the early 1900’s with the Azua St revivals and much like the early church in Acts chatper 2
up into that point there didn’t really seem to be an excitment when it came to the church.
so fast forward to today and we kinda see that across our country today.
there’s an excitement brewing again.
do you guys know why we sometimes call you the revival generation?
it’s because we see a hunger in you. we see it
we see the hunger you guys have for the bible, for worship, for a relationship with God.
and we see that same hunger spreading.
but what if you don’t feel that way right now?
what if at one point you were so on fire for God but right now that fire is more like a dying match?
over the next few weeks we’re goin to use a story of a Prophet that was given a vision of life coming out of death.
his name is Ezekiel.
when we find Exekiel in the context of this story the people of God are once again in captivity. this time in babylon. God through dreams sends a message to Ezekiel that he’s going to restore the nation of isreal back to the promise land.
see the people had given up, they had no hope of ever going back. the promise of the promise land to then was for all tense and purposes…..dead.
but God showed Ezekiel that through God and the power of his word that once was thought to be dead can live again.
just like our relationships with chirst today.
it might sometimes feel like were dead men walking but jesus promises us that we can still live in him. that theres still life to be had.
the sub title of this weeks lesson is
Revival comes from God’s word.
