HOW TO ACT IN CHURCH

I TIMOTHY 3:15

INTRODUCTION

My brothers and sisters, there are rules regarding how one should act that are deemed acceptable for any location and occasion. Unfortunately, it is mine to announce that many operate under the false assumption, the flawed premise, the fatal presupposition that when it comes to the House of God, the rules are that:

there are no rules

anything goes

I don’t have to change what I do or how I do it

simply because they have incorrectly ascribed their behavior to a misinterpretation of “Jesus said, ‘Come as you are.,” or sayings like, “It’s my thing, I’ll do what I wanna do. You can’t tell me what to do.”

Yet, my brothers and sisters, it’s funny how we will follow the rules for the:

club

grocery store

movie theater

concert

school

sporting event

streets

but when it comes to the church, we feel that we can do whatever we like. Could it be that
