Scripture Reading

Psalm 11 KJV 1900
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. 1 In the Lord put I my trust: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? 2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string, That they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. 3 If the foundations be destroyed, What can the righteous do? 4 The Lord is in his holy temple, The Lord’s throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men. 5 The Lord trieth the righteous: But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. 6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, And an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. 7 For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; His countenance doth behold the upright.

Introduction

Throughout the history of warfare, one innovation changed everything: the arrow.
What began as a simple survival tool—crafted from bone and flint—eventually became one of the most feared weapons on the battlefield.
The arrow introduced a new concept to combat: distance.
No longer did the warrior have to meet his enemy face-to-face.
Now he could strike from afar, launching his attack before his opponent even saw it coming.
It turned close-quarters combat into a battle of reach, precision, and stealth.
evolving into an instrument of domination.
From the plains of Mesopotamia to the chariot warriors of Egypt,
from the mighty longbows of England to the composite bows of mounted Mongols, the arrow became more than just a tool—
it became a strategic powerhorse, reshaping empires and military tactics.
And though eventually replaced by bullets and missiles, the spirit of the arrow still lives on—in every distant, unexpected, unseen assault.
But today, we’re not here to talk about ancient warfare alone.
We’ve come to expose a spiritual reality: the enemy still uses arrows.
Just like those ancient archers, Satan rarely confronts you face-to-face.
He attacks from a distance—through words, thoughts, temptations, traumas, and lies—fiery darts launched when you least expect them.
But I feel in the Holy Ghost that we’re not just here to study the enemy’s arrows.
We’re here to understand how to overcome them.
Because just as warfare evolved, so did our spiritual armor.
And even as the winds of revival blow through our services
we must be ready to face and deflect the arrows that try to stop us from reaching that breakthrough.
Today, as we look at:
What these arrows are
How they affect us
And Why we don’t have to fear them
And most importantly, we remember how God fights back with His own arrows of victory.
We must tighten your grip.
Raise your shield.
Because the arrows may be flying…
…but the Word of God said no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
So today I want to minister to you on this subject “When Arrows Fly”

What Are the Arrows of the Enemy?

Before we can understand the spiritual attack, we need to understand the weapon.
The arrow was one of the earliest weapons ever created—simple in form, deadly in function.
Made from sharpened stone, bone, or bronze, its design was intended for one thing: to strike from a distance.
The arrow revolutionized warfare.
It allowed a man to kill without ever coming close. It introduced a new strategy—stealth. Surprise. Silence.
With the right bow, the archer could stay hidden.
He didn’t need to confront his target. He didn’t need to fight fair.
He could fire from the shadows… disappear behind the trees… and leave his victim wondering where the wound even came from.
Let me tell you—Satan has studied this strategy well.
He doesn’t always come at you with horns and thunder.
Most times, he comes as an unseen enemy… releasing spiritual arrows into your soul—designed not just to destroy, but to disturb.
To unbalance. To confuse.
To wound your will to fight.
And just like in the days of old, he doesn’t get close when he can kill you from a distance.
That’s why you can be in the presence of God and still feel a thought strike your mind.
That’s why you can be doing everything right, and suddenly—here comes the feeling of unworthiness, depression, fear, or temptation out of nowhere.
The enemy uses arrows because they let him assault you covertly.
And the Bible is not silent about it.
Psalm 11:2 – “The wicked bend their bow… to shoot in secret at the upright in heart.”
Secret attacks. Arrows from the darkness. Things that blindside your spirit.
Psalm 64:3-4 – “Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows… even bitter words.”
→ Words that wound. Conversations that cut. Memories that echo with poison.
Ephesians 6:16 – “Above all, taking the shield of faith… to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
→ These arrows aren’t just sharp—they’re on fire. Meant to ignite anxiety. To consume peace. To burn up joy.
The enemy has a quiver full of these darts:
– Discouragement
– Rejection
– Doubt
– Compromise
– Offense
– Shame
– Guilt
– Unforgiveness
You won’t always see him coming.
You won’t always know where it came from.
But you’ll feel it.
Because his arrows are silent—but they’re aimed for the heart.
But today I want to expose the archer.
I want us to recognize the weapons.
And more importantly—we’re going to raise the shield of faith.
Because even though the arrows may fly, they will not prosper.

How the Arrows Affect Us

And if the arrow were just about pain, that would be one thing.
But the true danger of the arrow… is not just that it wounds—
…it weakens.
…it wears down.
…it whispers lies while it bleeds you slowly.
Because you see In ancient warfare, archers didn’t need to hit the heart to win.
If they could hit a leg, a shoulder, or even just graze the skin—they disrupted the soldier’s effectiveness.
And that’s exactly what the enemy is trying to do to the church.
He wants to keep you spiritually limping.
Still alive—but no longer advancing.
Still breathing—but no longer believing.
Still showing up—but no longer pressing in.
Because many times a wounded worshipper rarely lift their hands.
And A bleeding believer rarely steps into boldness.
The arrow may not take your life—but it can steal your momentum.
-That’s why Isaiah said and I have already quoted it once today:
“No weapon formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn…”
(Isaiah 54:17)
The weapon may form.
The arrow may fly.
But its assignment must be canceled by the worshiper who refuses to bow to the wound.
It’s cancelled by the ones who say I may be limping in but never the less I am going to worship the King
It’s cancelled by the attitude that says I may not be able to worship like i used too but there’s still a little something in the tank
You see the problem with the church is too often we use methods found in the world to deal with things in the spirit
For example
Key steps to take after a snakebite
Seek immediate medical help: Call emergency services (911 in the US) right away.
Stay calm and still: Moving increases circulation and can spread the venom more quickly.
Immobilize the affected limb: Keep the bitten area as still as possible and preferably below heart level to minimize venom circulation.
Remove any constricting items: Take off jewelry, watches, or tight clothing near the bite in case of swelling.
Clean the wound (if possible): Gently wash the bite with soap and water,
You see society says that when poison enters your body the first thing you should do is call for help
And While much of these instructions go against our judgement when it comes to spiritual things this one I believe is paramount for your survival
Psalm 118:5 KJV 1900
5 I called upon the Lord in distress: The Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.
Psalm 34:4–5 KJV 1900
4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: And their faces were not ashamed.
And finally Hebrews 4:15
Hebrews 4:15 KJV 1900
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Freind the best thing you can do when the enemy attacks you is call upon the name of the Lord
The enemy wants you to think you are all alone
That there is no one around
The second step is to stay still and calm
Sir, Madame the abosulte worst thing you can do when the enemy attacks is to
When the brought the ark of the covenant back into Jerusalem David went before the ark in a preistly garment and the Bible said he danced before the Lord
But the problem was his wife set looking from a window sill
And she said you shouldn’t act like that
I know I talk a lot about David and it’s because he is probably my favorite Bible Character
But I want you to notice the two attitudes here
One person sat in a window watching as the spirit of God was moved
Sitting back arms folded not worshipping, not praising, not clapping, not shouting
But the other was so excited about the being in the presence of God He just could not contain himself
We used to sing a song around here
When I think of His Goodness and all he’s done for me
But I want to tell you today that the Bible said that Michal lived the rest of her life and she never bore a child
But David had 19 sons and one daughter
Step three is to immobilize the affected limb, get it below the heart if possible
Lamentations 3:40–41 KJV 1900
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord. 41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO WHEN THE ENEMY POISONS YOU IS TO GET YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS THAT WHEN WE LIFT OUR HANDS,we lift up our heart
Step 4. Remove any constricting items: Take off jewelry, watches, or tight clothing near the bite in case of swelling.
Standards are not meant to restrict or to bind you, to keep you from enjoying life
But the reason we take off the tight clothes
The reason we take off the Jewelry is because we are trying to take off anything that promotes the poison in our life
Finally it says to Clean the wound (if possible): Gently wash the bite with soap and water,
There is nothing more cleansing than being baptised in Jesus Name
however I understand and God understands that you have the potential to make a mistake after that you have been baptised
And he says that you have an advocate with the father
And it is through repentance that we are washed clean
Let’s talk plainly.
Some of you have been feeling heaviness lately—and you don’t even know why.
You’re not in sin. You’re not backsliding.
But something’s pressing on you.
That’s an arrow.
A subtle, silent dart—meant to confuse your discernment and drain your hunger.
Maybe it’s an old memory.
Maybe it’s a conversation that wounded you.
Maybe it’s a battle in your mind every time you lift your hands.
My friend I want to tell you today that That’s not just life—that’s warfare.
The psalmist said in Psalm 91:5,
“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day…”
That verse tells us two things:
The arrow flies openly. You’re not crazy—there is a real spiritual war going on around you.
You don’t have to fear it. Just because it’s flying doesn’t mean it’s landing.
You see, arrows may hit the unshielded.
But to those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High—they pass right by.
That’s why the enemy sends these arrows:
To move you out of the secret place.
To distract you out of prayer.
To pull you out of worship.
Because the arrow only lands if you’re not covered.
But today, I feel something shifting.
Somebody’s about to lift up a shield.
Somebody’s about to step back into the presence of God and say,
“I may be wounded—but I’m not quitting. I may be tired—but I’m still standing. The arrow may have hit—but it will not define me.”
Because the same God who sees the arrow…
…is also the God who has His own bow.
And before this night is over—we’re going to see how God fires back.

Why We Should Not Fear the Arrows

Yes, the arrows of the enemy are real.
Yes, they fly by day and strike in the night.
But let me declare this in the Holy Ghost: We do not fight in fear—we fight in faith.
Fear gives the arrow power.
Faith raises the shield.
We do not have to fear the attacks of the enemy because our position in Christ is stronger than his position in the shadows.
The enemy fires from a distance—
but the presence of God dwells within us.
He has to aim from the outside—
but greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Let’s revisit a promise from the Psalms:
“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day.” (Psalm 91:5)
Why?
Because of what comes before that verse:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1)
The enemy has shadows…
…but God has a shadow that covers you.
When the enemy fires arrows, it’s not about the weapon—it’s about your dwelling place.
Where are you abiding?
Are you hiding in fear? Or are you dwelling under the covering of the Almighty?
That’s why Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:16:
“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
Not some.
Not most.
All.
The shield of faith doesn’t just block the arrow—it extinguishes the fire behind it.
It doesn’t let the lie linger.
It doesn’t let the wound fester.
It quenches it.
Right there. Right then.
And here’s the part that makes hell nervous:
Every time you take a hit and keep standing, you remind Satan that his weapons are losing their edge.
Every time you lift your voice after he tried to silence you, you prove that the arrow didn’t work.
You don’t have to fear the arrows—because the One who formed the stars, forged your defense.
And He’s not just a protector—He’s a fighter.
In fact, God has arrows too. And He does not miss.

Victory through The Lord’s arrows

And when God pulls back His bow,
hell trembles.

Zec 9:13-14

Zec 9:13-14 God isn’t just defending you—He is launching His own assault.
Zechariah 9:13–14 KJV 1900
13 When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, And raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, And made thee as the sword of a mighty man. 14 And the Lord shall be seen over them, And his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: And the Lord God shall blow the trumpet, And shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
He bends Judah—which means praise
He fills the bow with Ephraim—a name meaning fruitfulness
And when praise and fruitfulness combine, God says,
“Now I have something to launch.”
Your praise becomes His projectile.
Your obedience becomes His arrowhead.
And the Bible says His arrow goes forth like lightning.
It doesn’t just fly—it strikes with fire, light, and force.
While the enemy’s arrows sneak from shadows, God’s arrows light up the sky.

Lamentations 3:12–13

“He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.”
Yes, this sounds painful at first—but hear the prophetic depth here.
Sometimes God aims not to harm—but to pierce you for purpose.
To target your will, your comfort zone, your pride—so He can get to your heart.
Elisha could not wear Elijah’s mantle until he had followed through pain, testing, and separation.
Israel couldn’t cross into Canaan until they passed through Jericho and Jordan.
And some of you will not walk into the revival God promised until you say:
“Lord, aim your arrow at me.
Not to destroy me—but to direct me.
Not to wound me—but to wake me.”

Closing: From Arrows to Altar

The enemy has fired arrows at your mind.
At your anointing.
At your consistency.
At your identity.
But tonight—the arrows stop here.
Not because the war is over…
…but because you’re picking up your shield again.
Some of you feel spiritually pierced—
And yet you’re still standing.
That means you survived the impact.
Now it’s time to step into victory.
And for someone else—God is drawing His own bow tonight.
He’s getting ready to release something into your life.
Something greater. Something deeper.
But He needs you in position.
He needs you on the altar.
So here’s the call:
Come. Not as a victim of arrows… but as a vessel of warfare.
Come not just to be healed—but to be armed.
Come and lift up the shield of faith.
Come and let God aim His arrow of purpose straight at your heart—
And light you on fire for this final hour.
This altar is open.
Let revival begin where the arrow ends.
Let victory rise from the wound.
Let the church take its place… in the shadow of the Almighty.
