The Lord Is My Shepherd

Psalm 23:1

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

Here are the CHARACTERISTICS of our Lord Jesus Christ:

I. The Personal Nature Of Christ. v.1a

The LORD is my shepherd;

His royalty.

“LORD”

This is Who He is.

Revelation 19:16

This is how He is.

Ephesians 4:4-6 (“unity” v.3)

His relation.

“my”

It is a family relation.

John 3:3, 7; 1 Peter 1:23

It is a forever relation.

Psalm 94:14

II. The Provisional Nature Of Christ. v.1b

I shall not want.

Our conclusion.

“not”

The greatest negative in our life.

“not want” (He fixed you. John 3:30)

The greatest notion in our life.

(When my wants are His wants I have none!)

Our comfort.

“want”

The Comforter fixes our covetousness.

The Comforter fixes our confidence.
