Worship is a Willful Decision

Psalm 34:1–2 ESV
1 I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad.
Worship no matter what’s going on

Worship is not based on feelings but on faith

Make worship a habit...

“Continually in my mouth...”
What’s in your mouth when trouble comes?

Worship Invites Others In

Psalm 34:3 ESV
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!
David shifts from personal praise to corporate invitation

True worship is contagious

“Magnify” = Lift God high

Lift God with our voices, Lift God in our hearts!

God Responds, God Lifts, God Cares, God Covers

Psalm 34:4–7 ESV
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
vs. 4 - “God ain’t hard to find”
When we genuinely seek Him, he responds and removes our fear.
“delivered me from all my fears”
God’s presence is the antidote to panic
vs. 5 - People who trust God walk in joy, not in shame.
*Look to God and He will lift you
vs. 6 - God is moved by our surrender
*He hears & he saves the humble who cry out to Him.
vs. 7 - God’s protection is PERSONAL & PRESENT
“Encamps” God surrounds His people like an Army around a city.
“Fear Him” = Reverence
-Reverence brings assurance, not anxiety.

Try Him for Yourself

Psalm 34:8 ESV
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
David invites us to experience God firsthand, not a secondhand faith

“Taste & See”

“Taste” = try Him
“See” = recognize His hand
When we trust God, we get to enjoy the fullness of His goodness!
“Trust Him & try Him, O brother & see”
JESUS IS MIGHTY TO SAVE!!

Just Try Him!
