Scripture:
Acts 8:4–8, 26–40
Bottom Line:
Moments become movements when you're led by the Spirit.
Engage:
Have you ever had a moment where you felt like you needed to say something, do something, or go somewhere—even if it didn’t totally make sense? When you're awake to the Spirit, those moments matter. They’re not random—they’re assignments.
That’s what happens to Philip. He’s not in charge, not famous—he’s just available. And because of that, God moves through him in powerful ways.
Encounter:
Let’s walk through Acts 8:
Verses 4–8: Philip preaches in Samaria—crossing cultural lines. Miracles happen. People pay attention. There’s joy in the city.
Verses 26–29: The Spirit says, “Go south to the desert road.” Then: “Go to that chariot.” Philip doesn’t ask for the full plan—he just follows the voice.
Verses 30–35: He starts a conversation. The eunuch is reading Isaiah. Philip explains how it points to Jesus. He doesn’t preach at him—he walks with him.
Verses 36–40: The eunuch believes and is baptized. That one moment sparks something global—he takes the Gospel back to Ethiopia.
Reveal:
Moments become movements when you're led by the Spirit.
Philip didn’t plan a revival. He just said yes to one moment—and God used it to change a nation.
Empower:
So how do we awaken to these Spirit-led moments?
Live interruptible – Your schedule is not off-limits to God.
Walk slow enough to listen – The Spirit rarely shouts.
Start with what’s in front of you – A verse. A conversation. A name on your heart.
Obey without the full picture – Trust the next step, even if you can’t see the finish line.
One conversation. One question. One “yes.”
That’s how God starts a movement.
