Scripture: 1 Kings 18:16–40
Bottom Line: What you tolerate today will dominate you tomorrow.
Engage: Sunday night isn’t scary just because school’s tomorrow—it’s scary because everything you ignored all weekend catches up. Elijah steps into a culture like that: a people who let compromise linger way too long. And now it’s controlling them.
Encounter: 1 Kings 18—Israel is numb. Split between idols and God.
Elijah calls out the compromise.
The prophets of Baal cry out—nothing happens.
Elijah prays once—God answers with fire.
The people finally wake up.
Reveal: Sin doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it just sits quietly in the corner… until it takes over. What you tolerate today will dominate you tomorrow.
Empower:
Are you letting anything stick around that God’s already called out?
Don’t settle for halfway.
The scariest thing isn’t facing God—it’s ignoring Him.
Let Him burn away what’s holding you back.
