1 Kings 17:1-6
1 Kings 17:1-6
Let’s pretend that you are a famous race car driver, what would you do prepare for a race?
Make sure your car is in tip top shape.
Exercise. The driver needs to be in shape too.
Maybe put new tires on your car.
Put on your helmet
And don’t forget to buckle up your seatbelt!
But what if you did all this work of preparing your vehicle and you forgot to check how much gas you have in your car? You would get partway through the race and then would sputter to a stop.
When getting ready to race, we must be prepared, but just like how race car drivers rely on gas for their cars, people today and in the Bible times rely on rain to bring them water. Rain is very important.
Who can tell me why rain and water is important?
Keeps crops growing
Keeps animals healthy
Keeps us alive
In our lesson today, we are going to learn about a time where God stopped the rain for over three years. Why would God do something like that? Well, lets find out in the Bible.
Read verses
God uses brave men and women to lead His people. Back in the Bible times God used prophets to deliver messages, remind His people how to obey, and warn His people. Often prophets told people about what God would do in the future. Elijah is one of the prophets of God.
