Title: "Do you have some change,"
Text. Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. 2 As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.
3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. 4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” 7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. 8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. Ac 3:1–8.
Point One: Are you asking for the Right Thing
Question: What is it to be “Lame” by definition
a) As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in Acts 3:2 “Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.”
b) When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.
Trans: "lame" generally refers to a physical disability, specifically an inability to walk properly due to injury or a physical defect. It's often used to describe someone who is crippled or disabled in their limbs. The term can also carry figurative meanings, representing spiritual weakness or imperfection.
Point Two: Do you can be changed even if you have been in the same situation for years.
4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!
Point Three: Do we really known who can give us the power to change our minds about our condition.
6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!”
7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. 8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.
Closing: Do you want to understand that the battle is not yours? The God we serve is redeemed us from the lies the enemy tells the world. He is not your friend; he is responsible for our broken bodies, and the death and destruction that accrues means the world is those " Trouble making Church people." The truth is that Jesus has overcome it all and has the power to live in victory over the prisons Satan desires to keep us. Are we free to do you want this freedom today?
