What’s In The Water?
(Matthew 16:16) – See Remarkable Bible In Good Notes at this verse
Logan Peters
Introduction:
1. Have you ever heard that baptism is not essential for salvation, or maybe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward change?
2. These false ideas have been brought about neglecting the truth of Scripture and what God desires from man.
3. In the Gospel account of Mark, we read the words straight from Christ: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
4. One can go to many places within Scripture to see the necessity of baptism: 1 Peter 3:21; Romans 6:1-4; Galatians 3:26-29.
5. Not only do we have commands that demonstrate the essentiality of baptism, but we also have examples that show us the importance of it.
6. Today, we will examine three accounts of baptism, and we will notice the necessity of baptism from these three accounts.
I. The Philippian Jailor (Acts 16:25-34).
II. The Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:29-39)
III. Paul (Acts 9:1-18; 22:16).
