Session 1 – Wednesday, July 30 Title: This Changes Everything Focus: Lessons 1–5 from the Trainer Guide Goal: To equip students with biblical confidence and practical tools to share the Gospel using the 3 Circles.

Intro

Have you ever been CPR certified? You don’t train for CPR because you want to show off chest compressions, you train because someone’s life may depend on it.
Sharing Jesus is spiritual CPR. You are the first responder in someone’s spiritual emergency.
If someone asked you right now how to be saved, what would you say?
Invite 2-3 quick responses (no shaming — let it be raw).
Transition:
“Over the next two weeks, you’re going to become confident enough to turn everyday conversations into Gospel conversations, and I believe God is going to use you to change someone’s eternity.”

LESSON 1: The Gospel and the 3 Circles

Scripture: Romans 1:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17–21 Greek word study: Euangelion (εὐαγγέλιον) – “Good news”
Romans 1:16 NIV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
2 Corinthians 5:17–21 NIV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

What is the Gospel?

Not just a story — it’s power (Romans 1:16).
Romans 1:16 NIV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
The Gospel is the message of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection to rescue us from brokenness and restore us to God’s design.

The 3 Circles Tool

God’s Design → Brokenness → Gospel → Repent & Believe → Recover & Pursue
Visual, clear, reproducible.
Helps turn everyday conversations (sports, anxiety, identity, brokenness) into Gospel moments.
“The 3 Circles is not magic — it's a tool. But in the hands of someone filled with the Spirit, it can change a life.”
[SHOW VIDEO CLIP: Lesson 1 — 0:00–2:10]
Practice Prompt:
“Turn to a neighbor and explain the 3 Circles out loud — even if you fumble through it. Start getting reps.”

LESSON 2: What Do I Say?

Scripture: Romans 10:14–17, Acts 17:2–3 Greek word study: Kerusso (κηρύσσω) – “to proclaim”
Romans 10:14–17 NIV
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Acts 17:2–3 NIV
As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah,” he said.

What You Say Matters

Salvation comes by hearing the message of Christ (Romans 10:17).
Romans 10:17 NIV
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
The Gospel needs to be spoken, not just lived silently.

Key Components of What to Say

Use the 3 Circles tool to include:
God’s Design
Sin leads to Brokenness
Jesus died and rose again
Repent & Believe
Recover & Pursue
[SHOW VIDEO CLIP: Lesson 2 — 0:00–1:50]
Practice Prompt:
“Turn to a partner and try saying the full Gospel out loud using the 3 Circles. Keep it simple, clear, and Jesus-centered.”

LESSON 3: How Do I Bring It Up?

Scripture: Acts 8:30–35 (Philip and the Ethiopian) Greek word study: Euangelizō (εὐαγγελίζω) – “to announce good news”
Acts 8:30–35 NIV
Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.” The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.

Gospel Conversations Start with Everyday Conversations

Like Philip, we start with where people are — then we point to Jesus.

Three Effective Transition Phrases:

“Can I share something that’s really helped me?”
“Can I show you a picture that changed how I see life?”
“Has anyone ever explained the Gospel to you in a way that made sense?”
[SHOW VIDEO CLIP: Lesson 3 — 1:05–3:00]
Practice Prompt:
“Turn to your partner — ask one of those 3 questions to get into the 3 Circles. Then go into it again. This is how we grow.”

LESSON 4: What If They Say Yes?

Scripture: Acts 2:37–41, Romans 10:9 Greek word study: Metanoia (μετάνοια) – “repentance” Hebrew note: Shuv (שׁוּב) – “to turn back” or “return”
Acts 2:37–41 NIV
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
Romans 10:9 NIV
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Lead with Confidence, Not Confusion

If someone is ready to believe, don’t panic — lead them with clarity.

Use the 2 Invitation Questions:

“Where do you see yourself in this diagram?”
“Is there anything stopping you from repenting and believing right now?”

The Prayer (Not a Formula, But a Guide)

Lead them to confess and trust Jesus with their life.
[SHOW VIDEO CLIP: Lesson 4 — 3:00–5:30]
Practice Prompt:
“Practice saying the two questions to your partner. Then switch roles. If they say yes, lead them through a simple salvation prayer.”

LESSON 5: Red, Yellow, and Green Responses

Scripture: Acts 17:32–34 Theological Concept: Evangelism is obedience, not outcome.
Acts 17:32–34 NIV
When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, “We want to hear you again on this subject.” At that, Paul left the Council. Some of the people became followers of Paul and believed. Among them was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus, also a woman named Damaris, and a number of others.

The Three Responses:

Red: “No thanks” → respond with grace, don’t argue.
Yellow: “I want to think more” → extend the convo, invite to church/Bible study.
Green: “Yes” → lead them, follow up, and help them share right away.

Every Response Is a Win

We’re not responsible for results, we’re responsible for faithfulness 1 Corinthians 3:6–7
1 Corinthians 3:6–7 NIV
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
[SHOW VIDEO CLIP: Lesson 5 — 1:00–3:50]
Practice Prompt:
“Go back through the exercise again, but this time, give your partner either a red, yellow, or green light response and let them practice responding with grace.”

CONCLUSION: Let’s Get Reps

You now know the 3 Circles and how to explain the Gospel. That’s not small.
Romans 1:16 (again): This Gospel is power. You’re not powerless.
Romans 1:16 NIV
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Matthew 28:19–20 NIV
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 22:37–39 NIV
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
This is a Gospel Movement, not a lesson.

Challenge:

“What if God wants to use YOU this week to start a Gospel conversation? What if the person He wants to reach is someone only you can talk to?”

Homework:

Daily Prayer Challenge: Pray at 10:02 AM for one person far from God (Luke 10:2.)
Luke 10:2 NIV
He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
Practice 3 Circles with a parent, friend, or sibling.
Memorize the 2 Invitation Questions.
“Where do you see yourself in this diagram?”
“Is there anything stopping you from repenting and believing right now?”
Pray as a group:
for boldness
for “My One”
for God to use them
