Introduction

Qualities of a good waiter?
“How can I help?”
Christians are called to be good servants.

Have A Servant’s Attitude

vv. 18-26
Traveling and being delayed in a cool place.
I’m ready to go home, but…
This tension exists in Paul (v. 21).
The biblical view of death.
Death is a doorway home.
Ultimate rest.
But, as long as the Lord has me here - How can I help?
Matthew 5:14–16 ESV
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Being salt & light. Things which are helpful.
The result of this inner tension being resolved is found in vv. 25-26.
How can I increase your sanctification?
For some, discipleship or teaching or serving on a committee or contributing to a ministry or praying on our prayer ministry.
Which leads us to the next section:

Wearing a red shirt at target.
This is how we identify people who work places.
How should Christians be known? Actions?
Shirts, bumperstickers, bracelets, jewelry.
Actions!
Actions are manifestations of the fruit of the Spirit.
John 13:35 ESV
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
Love manifests in unity.
v. 27 - One spirit and One mind.

You can’t do everything but you can…
Do something.
Do something for the lost.
Tonight is outreach night.

Do something.
