Pain can become all encompassing.
Pain can become all encompassing.
When we hurt our world can become quite small. It colors everything.
We want to know “why”.
We want to know “why”.
This is admirable but sometimes, or should I say most of the time, we never get a good answer. Job was askign “why” and as we open up our chapters this morning he will get a reply.
God finally speaks. We must remember that God still speaks, even today. Though I would argue primarily through His Word there are other times when the Holy Spirit nudges us and therefore is “speaking”. What does He say.
God speaks as Creator.
God speaks as Creator.
God is going back into “time” which is something He created and ask who else was there.
God asks questions so that Job must draw out implications.
God asks questions so that Job must draw out implications.
This can be so rewarding and yet frustrating at the same time. The whole book is filled iwth people speaking and answering with limited knowledge and now the one who is all knowing chooses to ask questions.
Sometimes, people need to find their answer.
Sometimes, people need to find their answer.
We must lead them, and God does this with his questions, but we must not be tempted into providing all the answers.
The world is not built on justice.
The world is not built on justice.
Look at Job 38.26 and see that there is a sense where God admits a true sense of justice is not what the world runs on. This has been the argument all the book, is God just in teh way he operates. Life is not fair.
God is aware and providing for creation.
God is aware and providing for creation.
I think this is one of the main thoughts from Job 39 and the examples of the animal kingdom. The ancient world did not always understand the animals around them and if they cannot understand that how can they understand more complex items.
God alone understands all things.
God alone understands all things.
As creator he alone has wisdom to understand the purpose behind things.
God provides for creation.
God provides for creation.
God is not aloof nor uncaring. He provides. When we are in suffering and pain we need to try and see how things are being provided.
We do not need answers to always move forward.
We do not need answers to always move forward.
We can start moving without knowing. Notice though I did not say move on. For me, there is a world of difference between moving forward and moving on.
Trust God the Creator and His Wisdom.
Trust God the Creator and His Wisdom.
If I could summarize these two chapters I think it may be this statement.
