WORSHIP SETšŸŽ¶
Let Everything
PRAISE VS WORSHIP
These are different in scripture even though we blend them together often in our conversations and even on Sunday Mornings.
We read Paul’s strong encouragement to Worship in Romans 12.
Romans 12:1 NLT
And so, dear brothers and sisters,* I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.*
Two parts: Spiritual Worship
ā€œTo BOW DOWNā€ or ā€œTo Kneelā€
Hebrew: ŔāḄâ (Strong’s H7812)
Physical movement to honor
ā€œTo SACRIFICEā€
Present your bodies
Attitude of the HEART
To Sacrifice
detail: to BOW
to bow down, prostrate oneself
before superior in homage
before God in worship
before false gods
before angel
First Mention of Worship excluded music/singing
Genesis 22:5 NLT
5Ā ā€œStay here with the donkey,ā€ Abraham told the servants. ā€œThe boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.ā€
Worship is a Matter of the Heart!
John 4:23 NLT
23Ā But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.
Not one mention of music
Father is looking for ā€œTrue Worshipersā€ today!

CAN YOU HEAR GOD SAYING THIS IN GENESIS?
ā€œLet the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.ā€Ā
Genesis 1:11 (NIV)
Everything starts as a seed.
That’s the first law of the harvest.
Every achievement started as a seed.
Cornerstone started as a seed when our founder, Aimee Semple McPherson had a dream along with some others (92 years ago) to help people in Okmulgee meet Jesus.
Even you and me— our lives started as a seed. When your parents got together and you were conceived, your life began.
Literally everything that’s living on planet Earth came from a seed.
In Genesis 1:11 God said,Ā ā€œLet the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kindsā€Ā (NIV).
There are physical seeds that you plant in the ground.
But seeds are also anything valuable that you give away.
When you give away praise, there’s value to that.
When you give away good advice, there’s value to that.
When you give away your time, there’s value to that.
When you give away your money, there’s value to that.
When you share your experiences to help other people, there’s value to that.
When you give your love away, there’s great value to that.
It all starts as a seed...
whether it’s your time, money, appreciation, attention, wisdom, or energy.
You will have thousands of opportunities to give away the best of yourself and make a difference for God’s kingdom.
You can use those opportunities to sow life… or HOLD ON TO IT and miss the opportunity.
Your WORDS can also be seeds that you plant in people’s minds.
They grow, and they bear fruit. So you need to choose your words wisely.
Your words have power over the people you love the most—your children, your spouse, and your friends—but also the people you meet in your everyday life.
What kind of seeds are you planting in your relationships and with the people God brings into your life?
It takes courage to plant seeds of trust when you've been hurt.
Are you planting seeds of trust—or seeds of distrust?
Are you planting seeds of kindness, or
are you planting seeds of crankiness?
Are you planting seeds that build up, or
are you planting seeds that tear down?
Remember: ā€œYou will reap what you sow.ā€ (Galatians 6.7)
So take heart—and be courageous in planting seeds that have great value.
Let’s Pray

Summertime — Reaching Out
Grab a Life Card ā™„ļø
INTRO šŸ“ˆ

We love Summertime on the whole, but we know we need wind in Oklahoma to help us stay cool.

5 mph wind can make all the difference in our world.

TURBINES HAVE REALLY TAKEN OFF AROUND THE WORLD.
There are more than 2,300 wind turbines spinning to create energy off the coasts of 11 European countries.
A large number of those turbines are located in the North and Irish seas.
One reason for this is because the winds blowing across those bodies of water are not only strong but constant.
Like in northern Oklahoma, there are hundreds of turbines as the wind current is steady.
How much wind is needed?
Best practice is 7 to 9 miles per hour.
Their top speeds are around 50-55 mph, which is their upper safety limit
New generation of wind turbines can work at lower wind speeds.
About 5 mph.
These turbines are generally smaller, don’t generate as much energy, and are not designed to withstand higher wind ranges.
Now you would think— faster the rotation of the blades equals more electricity. No.
The blades are connected to a shaft that turns at between 30 to 60 rotations per minute.
The shaft then connects to a gear box that increases the rotation speed from 1000 to 1800 rotations per minute, which is the speed required by most generators to produce electricity.
The amount of electricity a wind turbine generates depends on the size of the turbine
This is known as the power rating
It’s also dependent on how fast the wind is traveling at the turbine’s location.
Power ratings of wind turbines ranges...
Ratings start around 250 watts (enough to charge a battery)
10 kilowatts (enough to power a house) to
6 megawatts (enough to power more than 1600 houses).
WOW!
Have you ever considered that you have a power rating too?
Maybe dependent on our
skill set
skill level
our $$ resources
our family linage
and length of life
SO TIME MATTERS—
A similar phrase originatedĀ in "Advice to a Young Tradesman", an essay byĀ Benjamin FranklinĀ that appeared in George Fisher's 1748 book,Ā The American Instructor: or Young Man's Best Companion— he wrote...
ā€œRemember, Time is money.ā€
LESSON šŸŽš LAST WEEK

if we are to take the gospel...

Current series— Summertime: Reaching Out is about… we said we needed to...
Take the Gospel,
Show the Gospel, and
Tell the Gospel
…All Summer long .
Our DIRECTIVE came from Romans...
Romans 1:16 NLT
16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
LESSON šŸŽš THIS WEEK — TIME MATTERS
Before Marcie and I were married we volunteered at a church in Ponca City — for 12 years before coming to Foursquare.
We took youth to conferences, concerts, camps, hayrides etc.
We heard some big named teachers, pastors, in small settings and in settings over 7,000 youth.
My favorite speaker was Nick.
Nick V is a great speaker. Often only getting a 20 min slot, but it was the best encouragement of the conference.
Nick is a miracle! — totally dependent on others as He trusts God with his life.
He didn’t learn to walk,
He learned to roll!
Let’s look at one of his principles of encouragement.
The TRUTH about Right Time
Often we focus on what may be true, but it isn’t the Truth.
Such as…
it is TRUE you feel like you are the only one that does things around the house, but
the TRUTH is other people cut the grass, take out the trash.
it is TRUE that the doctor says you are sick, but
the TRUTH is by the stripes of Jesus You were made whole.
So, The TRUTH about ā€œRight Timeā€ — HERE IS #1
Is there a right time? Life will always be full...
The right time is elusive.
At some point you just have to go for it!
when to leave home, marriage, kids, planting an oak tree!
At some point you have to stop waiting and start trusting.
SURRENDERING TO GOD! Sounds difficult, however the peace that follows is the best feeling on the planet.
The best time to start a new HABIT isn’t next week, it’s today.
When is the best time to plant an oak tree?
30 years ago or today
2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT
2Ā For God says, ā€œAt just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.ā€* Indeed, the ā€œright timeā€ is now. Today is the day of salvation.
God is actively seeking individuals to turn back to Him...to repent… and CHOOSE to live in the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.
When your ready...#WEAREHERE
most things in life are shared experiences, however, when it comes to new habits, changing our life’s direction — IT MUST START WITH ME!!
WE share the experience, but we must make the decision personally
that’s why we call it a Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ...
The TRUTH, WE CAN’T DO IT by ourself, we need community to walk it out.
It doesn’t say,
ā€œif you and your 4 amigos, believe in your heart you shall be saved...ā€ NOPE!
Romans 10:9–10 NLT
9Ā If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10Ā For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
THIS WORKS ALL THROUGHOUT LIFE...
THE SAME APPLIES IN SHARING THE GOSPEL!
WE ALL ARE TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS, BUT IF YOU DON’T OPEN YOU MOUTH YOU ARE NOT SHARING.
THE SAME APPLIES IN SHARING THE GOSPEL!
Pray for opportunities
Pray to Hear the Holy Spirits leading
Pray for Boldness
Have FAITH and TAKE THE STEP
LET’S BREAK IT DOWN:
Pray for opportunities
ā€œHeavenly Father, I humbly seek Your divine favour as IĀ pray for open doorsĀ of opportunity. Grant me the wisdom to recognize the pathways You have prepared for me. May Your favour go before me, unlocking doors that lead to blessings and purpose. Lord, let Your favor be my shield in the journey of life, guiding me towards the opportunities You have ordained.Ā In Jesus Name amen.ā€
Psalm 5:12 NLT
12Ā For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.
Pray to Hear the Holy Spirits leading
ā€œHeavenly Father, as I navigate life’s crossroads, I seek Your guidance. Open doors of clarity and direction, revealing the paths that lead to Your intended opportunities. In Jesus Name amen.ā€
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
11Ā For I know the plans I have for you,ā€ says the Lord. ā€œThey are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Pray for Boldness
ā€œHeavenly Father, Thank You for Your great and bold acts of love towards us. You did not withhold even Your Son, and through Him we now have life everlasting. Thank You for the great work of Christ on the cross, and that it has brought me fromĀ deathĀ to life.
My prayer is that this life that I now live would be lived in boldness for Christ. Just as He gave His life for me, help me to give my life for Him each day. Keep me from shying away from being a bold witness to Christ and His good news.Ā In Jesus Name amen.ā€
2 Timothy 1:7–8 NLT
7Ā For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 8Ā So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.
Have FAITH and TAKE THE STEP
ā€œDear Father, This good news is not only for me to keep to myself but to share with others. Please help me to remember that good news is shared and not harbored. Help me to freely and courageously share the good news that was once shared with me.
Help me to prepare myself to give a defense for the hope that is in me. Yet, remind me that Your Holy Spirit is with me in those moments when I share the gospel with others. May He lead me and guide the words that I speak, and work in the hearts of the hearers. In Jesus’ name, amen.ā€
2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT
7Ā For we live by believing and not by seeing.
Romans 1:17 NLT
17Ā This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, ā€œIt is through faith that a righteous person has life.ā€*
Don’t judge yourself— Trust God
Trust God that he will take the SEED that you planted and grow something with it.
1 Corinthians 3:6 NLT
6Ā I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.
Without you and me NO ONE WILL TAKE NEXT STEPS
NO NEXT STEPS
No One Turns to Christ
No One Trusts in Christ
No Prayers for opportunities for the Gospel
No One Chooses to Grow the Kingdom of God
What Will WE DO TODAY?
Today is the DAY!
TIME TO PLANT AN OAK TREE
START A NEW HABIT.
TO REPENT
TO TURN TO GOD
CHOOSE LIFE!
ALL YOU NEED IS About 5 mph like that Wind Turbine to get things going.
Take the STEP TODAY!
