Thankful For Their Leadership
verse 5
The Gospel Given In Word
Leading to the working of conviction of the hearers through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
And when he [Helper/Holy Spirit] comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment
The Gospel Shown Through Example
The Apostle Paul has always made much of leading by example.
You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.
And when they came to him, he said to them: “You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia…”
For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you,
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
The best kind of leaders serve as slaves to Christ and to others.
Greatest commandments:
Love the Lord your God
Love your neighbor as yourself
Read Matthew 20:25-28
Chet Roden, Professor of OT and Hebrew at Liberty
First, above all else, the biblical, servant leader must serve God and follow his leadership.
A second practical lesson is that servant leaders are “servant” leaders. Leadership must stem from an attitude of service to others. Servant leaders must learn to be a servant before attempting to lead.
Dan Anderson, Biblical Slave Leadership
Biblical Slave Leadership is a stewardship from and to God requiring the surrender of one’s life to God for the development of others in the will of God.
