The Gospel Given In Word
Leading to the working of conviction of the hearers through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
John 16:8 ESV
And when he [Helper/Holy Spirit] comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment
The Gospel Shown Through Example
The Apostle Paul has always made much of leading by example.
1 Thessalonians 2:10 ESV
You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.
Acts 20:18 ESV
And when they came to him, he said to them: “You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia…”
2 Thessalonians 3:7 ESV
For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you,

The best kind of leaders serve as slaves to Christ and to others.

First, above all else, the biblical, servant leader must serve God and follow his leadership. A second practical lesson is that servant leaders are “servant” leaders. Leadership must stem from an attitude of service to others. Servant leaders must learn to be a servant before attempting to lead.
