Have you ever noticed how a person beginning a new relationship will go out of their way to present themselves in a “good light” to the other person?

3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
What do we know of God?

He is Holy. Even the angels gather around to sing of His holiness.
He expects holiness from those made in His image.
14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,
15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
Why is holiness so important?
Why is holiness so important?
It is not about getting attacked, for this is a lack of understanding grace.
It is about understanding redemption.
God redeemed us from something and to something.
J.C. Ryle once said, “We must be holy, because this is one grand end and purpose for which Christ came into the world...Jesus is a complete Saviour. He does not merely take away guilt of a believer’s sin, he does more—he breaks its power.
The activity of man’s hands are a clear picture of the love of man’s heart.
Many often does, or most regularly involves his energies in, what holds his thoughts captive.

What did God save us from?
What did God save us from?
God saved us from our sin & self.
