Big Idea - God wants an on-mission heart from START to FINISH

SCRIPTURE

v.7 - Blessed church. lot’s of good things,

Paul’s saying “one thing you are lacking.”

Blessed church. Similar Corinth.

Love God, Not Crazy, JBQ Champs.

What about that one more thing? being missional?

v.8 - Heart check.

Do a lot things well, can they give well?

What’s our Heart Check?

Worship, but witness?

Pray, but pray for our school?

v.9 - Jesus ultimate example - perfect.

He gave his life so I could have life!

What has Jesus done for you? Been generous to you?

Least you could do in return is being generous with gospel!

v.10 - Church has passion…

v.11 needed to finish. Wasn’t enough to just have passion.

We’ve had that passion, question now…

are we going to just begin and not finish?

What Paul is saying then and now…

It’s not enough to want to be missional, we have to actually be missional.

v.14 - “Your surplus is available for their need.”

They had money & passion.

They just needed to act on it.

Can be the hardest part.

“Your surplus is available for their need.”

There are people in your…

Schools,

neighborhoods,

families,

who need you!

HARD TRUTH - The devil doesn’t care what you promise to do, he cares about what you actually end up doing.

Heart - “Normalize conversations about the Bible.”

@ School - Private, Public, Homeschool

Gospel Conversations

A 5 minute conversation ANYWHERE w/a group of friends about gospel/Bible.

No approval needed!

Gospel Circles -

A 10-15 minute conversation w/anyone at lunch about gospel/Bible.

No approval needed!

Gospel Clubs -

Actual club at your school that talks about gospel.

Will need…

teacher sponsor

principle approval.

WRONG THOUGHT - I can’t start a Gospel Club at my school because there’s already a Bible Study.

RIGHT THOUGHT - What did God put on my heart this past summer, or even before in the spring? How can I obey that?

Obedience!!!!

Altar Moment -

#1 - For anyone who has said yes to living on-mission but has backed out.

#2 - For anyone who hasn’t said yes to living on-mission but wants to start today.

#3 - For anyone who wants to start a Gospel movement at their schools.

If you are one of those three, can you come up to the altar today?

PRAYER - Ask God, “What do you want me to do?”

Remember - Obedience.

Get youth leaders to pray over them.
