Its common today that we make that statement: to look at someone doing something fun, relaxing, not a care in the world and say to those around us…. oh man - hes just out here living his best life. i mean look at him.

that guy is living HIS BEST LIFE.

We look at someone on social media who we think has it all together

We take a look at someoine at work or in our lives we cross paths with someone who on the outside we wonder - are they living theyre best life. what about me?

AM I LIVING MY BEST LIFE? Have you ever wondered what it is?

and when you think about it what were talking about is our PRUPOSE

our path in life.

the way were going.

my best life is really the question we maybe ask ourselves. have we missed it? or are we in it?

SO WHAT IS MY BEST LIFE? (series breakdown)

This new series im beliving will be one that i hope will be one worth remembering because i am beleving that many people will discover their best life

MY BEST LIFE EXISTS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY SURRENDER AND OBEDIENCE TO JESUS.

Part 1: Total SURRENDER: Not partial, not complete, not just a little bit.

SURRENDER AND WORSHIP MUST ALWAYS RUN TOGETHER IN THE RACE OF FAITH

He wants to display his goodness and his mercy and he wants everyone to see himself revealed this way ythrough his people

What we surrender to is what we worship? What the bible says is our worship is actually what we surrender our lives to

The Faith of Abraham

Hebrews 11:8–10 ESV

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

Then when he was called by God to offer his only son to God - what we see here is the full display of HIS SURRENDER: and it was via his worship

Genesis 22:5 ESV

5 Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you.”

It was a total and complete surrender of Abrahams entire life: everything for his glory (he didnt with hold anything)

Genesis 22:16–17 ESV

16 and said, “By myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,

The Call of David, the defeat of goliath

1 Samuel 17:50 ESV

50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. There was no sword in the hand of David.

David won that battle with the word of the Lord as his testimony.

Matthew 4:18–22 ESV

18 While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him. 21 And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

What is the measure of our surrender? its our worship.

What is worship?

yes its singing

Yes its worship services

But its actually whats taking place in our hearts on a daily basis. your giving, your words, actions, behaviour,

(we have been singing lately a song where it says “we resurredner”

“If You're calling We're coming We're not walking We're running God we need resurrender”

SO HOW DO WE SURRENDER? WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE? YOU WOULD BE RIGHT IN ASKING _ how do i surrender to GOD

Let me give you a picture (both hands raised high in total abandonment and nothing being with held in worship to an all loving all great God

WHAT WE WORSHIP, WE BECOME LIKE.

If we want to conform into the image of Christ. YOU mUST SURRENDER FULLY TO CHRIST. HIS LORDSHIP, HIS AUTHORITY, AS KING

We must totally surrender to Christ to be able to conform into his image. If you arent conforming.. if you arent becoming: perhaps the question is… are you worshippin?… and if you arent worshipping.. ist because - you never totally surrendered?

YOU HAVE TO BE FULLY SURRENDERED TO CHRIST TO BECOME CHRIST-LIKE> TO LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE.

Its like this: a man one day is driving a complete bomb of a car. Keeps falling apart, keeps letting him down, seems like its just one thing after another with this guys car but he persists with the car. Then he meets someone one day and this man he meets tells him he will give him a brand new car. Totally brand new. He never has to drive the old car ever again.

But the only thing he has to do, is when he is ready, he just needs to take the old one to the place where hes gonna get the brand new one…. and hand the keys over to the man who promised him the new one.

But heres the problem. he wants the new car

He would really love to not deal with the old car anymore.

But he just will not.. go and surrender the old car. He wont bring it in

Now….Do you think that man is mad?

You are right - he is mad. totally crazy to even think about doing that.

yet that is what so many peoeple do with Christ.

They meet a man. An amazing man. a man full of grace. of worth, a man who really cares and knows all about them and he shows up in their life and he says

you dont have to do this anymore

you dont have to fight this battle anymore.

You can have a new life in my name. by believing these things about me, about who i am and who sent me.

and then you can go.

What is the pathway to the best life possible?

it begins with, surrender. surrender in worship.

Not partial surrender; but complete, irreovocable…. abandonmet of the old…. and a birthing of the new.

Think about Jericho. The first city. God decreed that it would be completely devoted to destruction, fully surrendere to him

Total surrender. Totally according to Gods plan.

Total surrender, total overtaking of them, a total exchange of authority not a partial one.

SO LET ME ASK YOU ——-HAVE YOU SURRENDERED YOUR LIFE FULLY TO CHRIST? or are you still driving around trying to make this old thing work?

Ephesians 4:23–24 ESV

23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

a few things about God and our worship: It is a regular display of our surrender to Christ. in every area.

It matters to God who we worship (only him)

he doesnt share his platform anyone. He alone is

It matters to God the manner in which we worship (spirit and truth)

He laid ou the plan for Joshua and how the worship team would do it

The manner of our worship is imperative.

How we worship him is critical.

1.TOTAL SURRENDER ISNT EASY, BUT ITS RIGHT

This is IS THE NARROW PATH, THE WAY THAT LEADS TO LIVE

make no mistkake about. it nothing about it is easy.

So someone comes and asks you and says

what is this christian life going to take from me, how much is it?

oh its free

But then what does it costs me?

Well….. your whole life, actually.

Surrender isnt meant to be easy. But when we realise its power we know it to be whats fully right for us.

to turn in the old car (life)

and inherit freely - the gift of a new car, a new life - In Jesus.

2.TOTAL SURRENDER IS WHERE THE JOY TRULY IS

(we were meant to be under Gods control, His providence and divine protection)

The happiest you will ever be is when you finally give in and go on

Go on where? into your best life.

The door that you knocked on and is opened to you

When you dont have to control it all, and you trust in Gods control. his protection. thats where you are the happiest in life

3.SURRENDER IS WHERE OUR PURPOSE BECOMES THE MOST CHRIST-LIKE

because the one who laid it all down in surrender

becomes the one that we follow after.
