The Visit of the Magi was a disruptive event that set the whole region on edge. Rumors of a New Born King had set the current king on edge and the arrival of some strange foreign dignitaries fueled the rumors. God would put his power on display to show that is was free to use anyone to accomplish his will, and that he would provide for his people, but more than anything he would provoke worship from those who sought him.
