Opening Scripture:

Acts 17:26 NLT
From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries.
From the very beginning of time God created and established boundaries within both humanity and creation itself
Boundaries establishes the parameters for order — where there are no boundaries there is no order
where there is no order, there is confusion.
Often times we fail to establish boundaries or we establish boundaries that hinder us or we establish boundaries that permits no one to have any access to our life, sometimes including God.

Guarded by Boundaries

Proverbs 4:23 NLT
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
The word of God instructs us to “guard our hearts”. We do this by setting up healthy, God oriented boundaries.
By setting up boundaries we are simply drawing a line in the sand and setting a standard to help identify any attack and distraction from the enemy.
It’s important that we establish boundaries that are rooted in God and in His word.
The enemy can cross over man made boundaries BUT can NOT bypass the boundaries God has established through His word and His Holy Spirit
The most effective way to guard our hearts is to fully entrust our hearts to God. We do this by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and hiding His word in our hearts daily.

Staying The Course

Proverbs 25:28 NLT
A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.
Boundaries help us maintain self control.
When our boundaries are rooted within God’s word we root our lives in righteousness.
When we loose self control we go spiraling downward and eventually hit rock bottom.
The good news is that even if we hit rock bottom we can come back simply by repenting and calling on the name of Jesus
When we loose self control we end up being controlled by sin

Where Is Your Line?

It is important for us to be able to identify if we have any boundaries “Lines” established within the parameters of our lives.
Where there is no Line there is no self control
Where there is no line there is no protection for your heart — which often leads you into heart ache and sorrow
where there is no line sin has room to grow
Let the word of God be your line that limits what people can and can not do within your life
Let the word of God be your line that completely hinders the enemy from being able to move within your life
When our boundaries are rooted in God, we then have established the ultimate defense system
