The Me Christian ( Selfishness)

Introduction
Selfishness- (of a person, action, or motive) lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one's own personal profit or pleasure.
How can a Christian be selfish in a church?
Have a Direct focus on Your need rather than the church needs
Serving in a church to have a platform
Never looking to serve the needs of others in the church
Leaving a church or ministry due to a disagreement
Treating a church as a plantation rather then a hospital
How do we combat being Selfish in the church?
Philippians 2:3–4 ESV
3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Ask the Question, How many times do I complain about the church rather then lift up the church? ( if we spend more time complaining rather then lifting our attitude will always turn to how it does not beneifit me. ) ( We can always learn a lesson from someone) ( Ex: Nerosugeron story on music changing our bodys/ attitudes)
Servants do not require a spotlight on them. ( When we are serving why are we doing it are we looking for a platform to push our own message or are we serving because our heart desire to please the Lord. ( Ex: singing on the worship team. ) ( Ex: Jesus washing the feet of disciples, lowering himself, the point that made them understand his mission.)
Christianity is an outward focus relationship to be apart of not inward( Everything we do requires us to be active with the intention of reaching other people) We are called to serve not to be served.) ( Ex: Free gas by word of mouth only)
Closing
