🌐 1. Pre-Introduction:
Welcome to Part 2 of our sermon series, "Built to Last: God's Blueprint for Spiritual Maturity." Today, we explore the importance of unity in ministry. Paul reminds the church that no one leader is greater than another—each one plays a role, but the growth belongs to God.
📖 2. Scripture Reading:
📖 2. Scripture Reading:
1 Corinthians 3:4–9 (KJV)"For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase... For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building."
NLT & AMP versions may also be referenced during the sermon.

🔹 5. Sermon Introduction:
🔹 5. Sermon Introduction:
The Corinthian church had divided into factions, claiming allegiance to different leaders. Paul corrects them—not by elevating himself or Apollos, but by reminding them that all true leaders are simply servants through whom God works.
📄 6. Sermon Outline:
📄 6. Sermon Outline:
A. Misplaced Allegiance (v.4)
Claiming loyalty to human leaders is a mark of spiritual immaturity.
Paul challenges them: “Are you not carnal?”
B. Ministry Roles Are Assigned by God (v.5)
Paul and Apollos were instruments, not the source of salvation.
God assigns each servant a role.
C. God Causes the Growth (v.6–7)
Paul planted the seed, Apollos watered it—but only God made it grow.
No matter our efforts, we must depend on God for fruitfulness.
D. One Team, Many Tasks (v.8–9)
The one who plants and the one who waters are unified in purpose.
We are co-workers in God’s service—His field, His building.
✅ 7. Practical Applications:
✅ 7. Practical Applications:
Stop comparing leaders: Every servant has their assignment from God.
Focus on the mission, not the man: The goal is fruit for God’s Kingdom.
See yourself as part of the team: Whether you plant or water, do your part faithfully.
❓ Reflection Questions:
❓ Reflection Questions:
Have I been more focused on personalities than purpose?
What role has God given me in His Kingdom work?
How can I support unity within the body of Christ this week?
🙏 Closing Prayer:
🙏 Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You for placing us in Your field and Your building project. Help us to work together in unity, not comparing or dividing, but honoring every servant You’ve called. Remind us that You alone bring the increase. We give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
