In a large house
there are gold and silver vessels
honor
there are wood and earthenware vessels
dishonor
For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
A Vessel For Dishonor
Embracing youthful lusts
young epithumia
irregular and inordinate desires, appetites, lusts.
We see this in kids all the time.
They want what they want now.
the lack the patience to wait.
They want more than what they need or even can handle.
eyes are bigger than their stomachs
a lack of moderation
They can’t control their urges for whatever.
a lack of self-control.
They complain about everything
a lack of contentment and gratitude.
We call this immaturity. Paul calls it youthful lusts.
But as believers we have been set free from bondage to our flesh.
We have the power through the Holy Spirit to mature into the likeness of Jesus.

to be free from the pollutions of life.
seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
from these things - what things?
wickedness from vs. 19?
adikia - injustice...

to furnish or outfit completely.
to make adept, proficient, capable
to put a thing in its appropriate condition, to establish, mend.
To refit, repair, mend that which is broken such as the nets.
Metaphorically, of a person in error, to restore, set right.
rightly dividing the word of truth...cutting straight.
