5 Ministry Priorities
Warren Brosi
Berlin Christian Church

Dominant Thought:  These five priorities define and refine our ministry.
Objectives:  I want my listener to…
-understand our priorities in this season of ministry.
-join with us in living out these priorities.
-choose similar priorities for themselves.
Earlier this Spring, Ken Gennicks, preacher at Athens Christian Church asked me to share five lessons I have learned as a minister of the gospel.  We would meet together with his summer intern and I would share my list with them.  So in May, Nic Babbs and I met with Ken and his intern, Cory, for lunch at Culvers.  Then, we came back to Berlin Christian Church where I share my list with him.
Today, I share this list of five ministry priorities I have so you can get a glimpse at what makes me tick and some of my vision for Berlin Christian Church.  I hope that as I share these priorities, you will join me in living them out.  As I share them, you may start thinking of what your list of priorities looks like for you and your ministry in this season.
1-The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Romans 1:16 (NIV), 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Be clear about what you believe and teach.  Live and preach a gospel centered life.  Preach Christ-centered sermons every time.   Bless your neighbors and nations with the good news of Jesus.
2-Prayer
Acts 6:4 (NIV), 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
Learn to be a person of prayer and cultivate a healthy relationship with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Read the Psalms daily to know the heart of God and have a language for prayer.  Pray with and for your people.  Prayer keeps us reliant on the provision of God for everything.
3-Study
2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV), 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
Commit to life-long learning.  Read books.  Attend conferences.  Listen to podcasts.  Study preaching, leadership, devotional life, other literature, yourself, and others.
4-Relationships
Proverbs 17:17 (NIV), 17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.
Cultivate healthy relationships with your family, your neighbors, your leaders and your church.  Find a few good friends.  Have friends from different generations.
5-Health
1 Corinthians 6:20 (NIV),20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Pursue a healthy mind, body, and spirit.  Care for your mental health with a mentor, physical health with good nutrition and exercise, and spiritual health with holy habits. Find a hobby.
As I look over this list of these five priorities, These five priorities define and refine our ministry.
